Absolutely lovely place. The cafe, farm shop and gallery are great. Fab place to end a walk or a stop along the way.

I was brought here by a friend for late lunch. Can recommend the burger and the mushrooms highly.Thoroughly enjoyable, atmosphere, service and food. The Breads' milled grains are processed on site so it's made from start to finish here. I do try and avoid gluten can I had no problem with their normal bread!

It's not really great service or food here, just adequate stuff in an adequate setting. It is pretty expensive for what it is. The worst criticism is reserved for the toilets, which always seem in need of service. The Kings Arms pub just up the road is recommended.

Asked if I could have a takeaway sandwich and was Told by cafe team I could have a bacon bap from the horsebox.went to horsebox to be told I couldn't have a bacon bap because they had finished serving. So then I was given the option of a pasty, which was then ordered from the kitchen. It then took 20mins to reheat a already cooked pasty which then was delivered from the cafe kitchen and turned out to be the smallest pasty known to humankind which cost an extortionate amount @£4.75 which anywhere else you'd get a large pasty for.Disorganised and not worth the money.

We bought 2 pieces of goats cheese and fig quiches from the shop and they were the best we have ever had. So tasty.

Over priced and cold.went in for lunch with my husband and daughter. The bread was heavy and cut too thick to be enjoyed. Served with 'salad leaves' which were from a pre-packed bag. Our hot drinks were not hot for long. The restaurant was cold and the entrance door did not closed properly. There was a heater above the door but pretty point less when the doors didn't close. The whole place would benefit from some mobile heaters. We won't be returning.

We were meeting a friend who recently had a major medical issue who we had arranged to meet. He and his friend already had a table,, there was an adjacent table reserved for 13:30, we had arrived at 12:55 and thought we would join them for a tea and leave by 13:30. We were told by this completely insensitive staff member that we had to move immediately and could not possibly stay, even though we tried to tell her that we would be gone by 13:30. How can you operate such an insensitive business —we will never visit again.

Why would a non bread eater go to a working mill? Otterton Mill is a family favourite when they visit. Despite not being able to eat bread the team here were amazing, happy to accommodate my fussinesss, great service, willingness to accommodate and with a smile. Thank you, I had the best breakfast, very tasty and enjoyed every mouthful

Lots to see great cafe

Great place for meals and snacks, but also a good farm shop, craft shop and milling demos. The Mill was a lifesaver during the lockdowns, opening their horsebox cafe in the car park and providing a welcome distraction in the form of a walk to and from Budleigh with coffee and a loo in the middle. Since the lockdown it has expanded its outside seating but the rest remains the same...good quality food at reasonable prices...except for the crab sandwich which is now in a dinky crab shaped bap. Sadly the dressing the meat is mixed with overpowers the taste of the crab.

Fabulous mackerel lunch today. And the mincemeat frangipane slice was delicious.

Otterton is only a mile or so from the sea surrounded by rolling countryside and many walking paths or trails.Visited this flour mill, cafe, bakery, farm shop (with art gallery)5 times for lunch, tea and takeaway supper and to shop in the farm shop, in storm, flooding, rain and brilliant sunshine. We were staying in the Kings Arms pub/restaurant with rooms a short walk up the road. With its very large car park it is an ideal spot for serious and not so serious walkers. It’s a Devon dream most of us seek during our visits to the West Country.Within and alongside an ancient mill building and adjoining warm coloured outhouses the centuries old history is evident and inviting. It draws visitors into explore and be immersed.Everything; fine food, feel, friendly service, high standard range of products we found delightful. The fresh mackerel fillets were so delicious on a bed of warm potatoes and a small salad.., we were so enjoying this, along with other dishes, we had it on three days! The roast peppers soup had such a rich flavour. Etc etc etc.Recommended as a stop off or a place to visit perhaps along with a country walk.Apologies..we don’t have photos but there are many on the website.CH
