Quite frankly the rudest and most unhelpful two female staff I have ever encountered - you are in the wrong job ladies. You clearly dislike serving your paying customers You made the atmosphere awful and uncomfortable for a party of 8 on Mothering Sunday - We wont be

Mum and I went for a snack lunch today. Have been coming to the Cider Press for years. The food in Bayards Kitchen is always amazing, but the service of one man in particular on the counter was cold, disinterested and quite frankly....rude! Not seen him there before. He was ignorant and arrogant in manner. Dreadful customer service and I wish I'd said something at the time now. All I expect is a smile and some eye contact.....I got neither. Its a shame as has put me off going in now.

Dog friendly, welcoming, helpful, friendly. Cheese scones to die for, best cuppa in Totnes!

Food is ok. Ladies are nice. But who is this underqualified man at the till who is the worst example of the catering/hospitality industry!? With his cold, no-smile-at-all attitude he makes sure you don't feel the warm welcome and when we leave he doesn't say a thank you and a bye, instead he properly turns his back! How rude and disgusting! I just laugh at him as we definitely aren't on the same level, but he can cause bad day for other customers. I definitely don't recommend this place and I won't go back for long time.

Pannie was served and not worth the £8.50. It was small, thin ham with coleslaw and a small amount of pickle. Last time we came we had a side salad and crisps with a bigger Pannie and the coleslaw with pickle. Will not be going again.

Good coffee

I like the coffee here very much but I find the price of danish pastries outrageously expensive. I don't know anywhere else in the whole of Totnes and district that would charge more than £3 for a croissant or pain au chocolat, whilst you charge more than £4. For that reason we always buy a toasted tea cake as it is better value for money.

Like it simple in every way rustic, great food and staff. If you wanted something different look no further then

Cafe was cold ( no heating on ), staff had the music playing too loud and coffee was only warm even though I asked for it to be hot. ( not the first time either ) What a shame..this used to be a lovely cafe that was run properly with good customer service.

Arrived before the rush. Perfect cup of tea to warm me up after 2 hour walk and the xheese scone with caramelised onion ws to die for!!

Nice place with a play area for children. I was not very impressed with the food.

Firstly, no complaints about the staff:I do object to drinking a cup of brown water, regular Americano, black, no milk or sugar, no taste of coffee whatsoever, served in a small cup: The cheese scone was difficult to swallow, extremely doughy. Total cost £7-30, It should not be difficult to serve good coffee, well over priced compared to other coffee houses in Totnes.
