Over the years when I'm in Dawlish or Exeter I invariably have a takeaway from the Gurkha Restaurant. They are always of a high standard and never disappoint. The food is cooked well and is extremely tasty. I would recommend the Gurkha to anyone.

Always love a trip to the Gurkha in Dawlish. This visit didn't disappoint with tasty freshly prepared food, lovely family friendly atmosphere and great service. We particularly enjoyed the fresh naan bread and the goat curry. Wide range of different dishes, rice and sides. I found the paratha a little heavy and oiler than expected but otherwise all the dishes were excellent, meat was tender and dishes of lentils and cheese and spinach were perfect.Kid-friendliness: Kids welcomed.

Delicious meal from Gurkha tonight, delivered piping hot by polite and friendly driver. Particularly good chicken shaslick and garlic chilli mixed vegetables which will be our new favourite.

What a great place this is to eat in Dawlish. This family run business is great with great staff and a great menu. We opted for 2 Nepalese dishes, chicken and lentil and goat and potato curry with rice and bread and a side of onion bhaji - all of it tasted delicious with no greasy film or aftertaste. A must try if you are in Dawlish or the area

Awful, no atmosphere Food arrived in rectangles. Not cooked on site. Unfriendly empty venue. Ghastly, cant leave another bad review as seem to be blocked on google and others. AVOID local resident.

From the moment of booking right through to paying the bill, we felt thoroughly looked after. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome, fantastic customer service ? AMAZING vegan menu (all 4 of us with 2 children aged 11 and 13) had a wide range to choose from. Every dish had a perfect balance of spices and texture. Delicious! The staff gave great advice on portion size and how much to order. All staff were very professional and extremely friendly. Lovely atmosphere and music with traditional art on the walls. A wonderful evening. Thank you all ?

Just had a lovely Lamb bhuna and Paratha bread from Gurkha Restaurant, delivered to campsite reception, very good service and lovely food. Six of us had different food and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Ordered food on line ,love Indian food ,prices dearer than most London Indian takeaways / restaurant,no problem we gave it a try wow probably the worst Indian food we've ever had ,bland tasteless food ,nan breads were ok wife's chicken Tikka was awful ,enemic looking chicken ,served with no mint sauce or salad ,but lots of tasteless onions not pilao rice ,coloured rice sag aloo like a green oily mush ,,garlic chili vegetable bland and tasteless ,feel gutted ,don't mind paying extra for good food ,but nearly forty pound for two people, without starters ,bearing in mind this was a takeaway

Had a delivery while on holiday in Dawlish Warren. Food was average, nothing special, food was hot, nothing different from other curry takeaways I’ve had before.

Booked this as an anniversary dinner. The service was 5 star, the speed, accuracy and temperature of the food served was exceptional. Exceedingly good value for money, the front of house gent gave us an anniversary surprise, although anniversary was only mentioned whilst we ate, so he had no time to prepare anything. The food was correctly prepared, cooked and the spices were tongue tingling. Would recommend this restaurant, a pleasurable experience and the quality of food was outstanding, a 11 out of 10 on all aspects of our visit. The drinks were not overpriced, actually quite cheap, unlike some restaurants. We’re visiting Dawlish as part of our tour of the South West and I would happily dine here again. Thank you for your hospitality and wonderful food.
