We were travellers who desperately needed a rest and happened upon this gorgeous traditional cozy pub restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and superb service from the friendly staff and manager, not to mention the really delicious food - promptly served. Definitely plan to go back.

We were looking for somewhere for lunch that was dog friendly so decided to try The Travellers Rest. We were greeted warmly and, once we'd been shown to our table, our dog was given a plate of food and a bowl of water. Our food was served in a timely manner it was excellent quality and good value. We will be returning soon.

Absolutely gorgeous pub, decent size, plenty of parking, outside benches, lunch time menu has loads to offer at a very reasonable price. The staff were really friendly and attentive, didn't have to wait long after ordering. This was the best steak baguette I've ever had! Cooked to perfection, fresh crisp salad and really crunchy fries! Enjoyed this so much! Great value for money. Will definately stop off here again!

Visited Friday lunchtime for a family celebration (50th birthday). On arrival we found our table decorated. The staff were so friendly. Our drink and food order was taken swiftly and the food arrived quickly. The portions (main menu) were very generous but more importantly the food was super fresh and extra tasty. The fishcake was THE world’s best ever! Thank you so much we will be back again.

Very nice meal we when for Xmas food was good but there wasn't a long wait for the Accompanying vegetables to turn up.Which meant we had to start as the meal would have been cold.
We went on Saturday lunchtime with the dog, very welcoming and before our order presented water and treats for the dog.Excellent service and food was delicious.

Our little golf group went for a Pre Christmas lunch , there were 11 of us. We do this most years and have never been to the same venue twice. ( That is going to change after visiting the Travellers rest). The food, Staff, service was top notch and I would say apart from my wife’s Christmas lunch, it was the best Christmas lunch I had ever had. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.

Great place to stop on journey to Cornwall if travelling from Dorset. Just off A30. We mixed four starters instead of a main, which were all very good.

We held my Mums 80th birthday (Sunday lunch) at the Travellers Rest. The service was first class, we were very well looked after by the team who were very attentive. They had even decorated our area with birthday banners which was a really nice touch. All of the food came out at the same time, no mean feat as there were 28 of us! The food was absolutely delicious and everyone had a lovely time. I would highly recommend the Travellers, everything was perfect and I couldn't find fault with anything. Thank you to the team for making Mums birthday so special and looking after us so well.
