Very nice restaurant at the entrance of Exmouth. We came in the evening for some dinner. The fish was very tasty and service was excellent. Particularly enjoyed the Norwegian Rockfish Fillet and chips were also really good. Dessert was yummy! Decor was really nice and had a nice atmosphere. Would definitely return to this restaurant. Car park nearby.

Absolutely excellent meal at Rockfish Exmouth. Service, food, ambience, just perfect. The fresh market fish is sensational.

My wife and I down for a long weekend, we love seafood and thought we’d try Rockfish - we weren’t disappointed! One of the best fish meals we’ve had in a long time - we both opted for the Megrim which was cooked beautifully allowing the fresh produce to shine. Great service too. I’ve seen some complaints about limited options but that’s the ‘cost’ of sourcing fresh produce- what’s caught locally is what’s on the menu! Overall superb.

Service was excellent, polite and very efficient, as for the food I had fresh fish of the day it was by far the best fish I have had , cooked perfectly, served beautifully I highly recommend trying the fresh fish of the day, whilst not cheap it is worth the money !

We were really looking forward to this meal, being great seafood fans. However it was incredibly disappointing. The menu was very limited , with little choice of fresh fish. My parents in the end opted for Mullet. This was extremely greasy and unappetising. My daughter had the kids fish and chips, I thought she was just being fussy when she said it tasted like concrete..when I tried a piece of the fish myself it was disgusting, a horrible chewy thing, goodness knows what type of fish it was but it was completely inedible. I had the cuttlefish and again, really greasy and unappetising. I actually put it in a napkin and took it back to give to the seagulls..but they didn’t touch it, which says it all! We all had the limitless chips, again very disappointing, we quickly ate the first ones, as the rest of the food was so bad, we then asked for more, these didn’t come even after prompting the staff. We complained to Rockfish about the whole dismal experience, they offered us a £20 voucher off our next meal.. You would have to pay us to return again.. so won’t be taking them up on that. Overall very disappointing.

My beautiful piece of HAKE was served on a very COLD plate!!! Should NEVER be allowed!!!! This piece of fish could be the most expensive plate warmer ever!!

Fantastic location. We had a great table by the window but the light was also a heater so not so good on a humid evening. When we sat down we were told of all the items that were unavailable and the list was fairly long which was pretty disappointing, I had looked at the menu online and decided what I wanted but neither main or starter were available. I wouldn’t have booked if the online menu was just what was available. The staff were really nice and service was good.

Location is Outstanding with the restaurant right by the seafront. Beautiful vista. The calamari was thin battered strips and remember that this is my opinion, however being served in this manor is not my preference as it does not have the texture or taste in thin strips. The scallops looked awesome as a starter. For my main I had mussels which were outstanding; plump, fantastic taste and very good sauce. The ice cream was superior quality. Would return. Highly recommend the scallops as a starter( just on looks alone ), mussels as a main and ice cream. Staff are very welcoming and very helpful. Service is very good.

Having been to other Rockfish restaurants this was out go on on our first evening in Exmouth. I will start on a positive it was clean & tidy with friendly staff however that’s where the positives end as the service levels were poor long wait to be asked for our drinks order long wait for drinks long wait for menu long wait for food we were asked if we required a second drink but it did not materialise the order had been forgotten. The chips were tasteless and cold the fish was greasy. It’s very overpriced whitebait to share to start fish and chips twice 2 ciders and a gin and tonic £74.30 .

Lovely venue, ordered lunch of a couple of starters and two fish and chips between the four of us. We asked for all of the food to be brought out together. Unfortunately this didn't happen and we had a ten minuet wait for the fish and chips after reminding the waitress. Food was reasonable but the chips were barely warm which was unfortunate. We ordered more as it is advertised as unlimited fries. These never came so again a bit disappointing. None of the waiting staff asked if everything was ok during our meal. The restaurant wasn't busy so unsure why the experience was a little poor. I wouldn't say that I wouldn't go back as the venue is lovely, I would be very cautious though.

We had such a wonderful lunch here on our way to Cornwall. We were so grateful that they managed to seat us without a reservation. One of our party is celiac and we often struggle to find somewhere that has a menu extensive enough for them to have choice. Rockfish did not disappoint. The staff are all very clued up on special requirements and made us all feel at ease with constant reassurances and information about their food and how they prepare meals for special requirements. Our waitress (the lovely lady with octopus earrings-sorry we didn’t get her name) was amazing! Very friendly, very informative and attentive. I have no qualms about recommending Rockfish for coeliacs and fish lovers. All of our party loved the amount of choice and more importantly what we (eventually) chose. We will be back again if we pass through this way again. (We may even take a detour!) Superb all round.

Excellent lunch yesterday. Food was superbly cooked and bursting with flavour. The Tacos (pictured) and Gurnard (pictured) were particularly great and you can't go wrong with unlimited chips!! The Rockfish IPA is also nice but is a 330ml can, not a pint just FYI. Lovely friendly staff who were very attentive and looked after us during our lunch. Overall an excellent experience. Oh and it's Dog Friendly!! :)

ROCKFISH chain has always been a good"you now what your getting" restaurant. Over the last 5 yrs the prices have gone through the roof, Dover Sole at 39.95 - crazy. For the price now you can get better and cheaper from local chippies. We won't be returning for a long while due to pricing.

We've been to three Rockfish. All have amazing food and great service but the view from Exmouth is amazing!Thoughts:- A whole crab is huge for one but a great birthday treat- They're not light with the chilli on the tacos ?- Every meal must now come with its own hammer!Kid-friendliness: Simple kids menu but really tasty and RockFishes own card game in the kids pack is unique and engaging.Parking: No parking by the restaurant but park on the seafront or in the marina and walk down

If you like seafood, then Rockfish is an amazing restaurant. The customer service was great from the moment we entered, with friendly and knowledgeable staff, who seemed to really know about the dishes. The restaurant is decorated in a modern take on a seaside theme, and from most parts of the restaurant there is a lovely view out to sea. Once seated, our server made us aware of what fish had been caught that day and so were available, and she assisted me in choosing between two of these. We had our 5 year old son with us and I was pleased to see that there was a children's menu too. I had the Gurnard, which I can I highly recommend. It came filleted and chargrilled, with the fish perfectly cooked. I asked for chips to accompany it, and I'm not normally a big chip fan, but these were lovely; really crispy. My wife had a whole fish. I can't remember the name, but it too was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time, and so we didn't have a starter or dessert on this occasion, but we'll definitely return here. Looking around, all the dishes looked amazing, and I especially liked the look of the mussels. The only slight recommendation that I would make to the restaurant, is perhaps something to entertain children, such as a colouring pack. Whilst the view, food and atmosphere kept my wife and I entertained, he became bored quite quickly. Other than that, our visit was without fault and I would highly recommend anyone visit, especially if you like freshly caught seafood.
