We love Rosemoor and visit often. Nice food in restaurant as Nd would return for this but very very poor service in restaurant. Not that busy and lots of people serving but just really really slow. Not attentive, we had to go and find a waitress to take our order and even then she did not come to our table.

We had lunch here today as a family and everything from the two course meal, to the service was absolutely superb! The food was beautifully cooked, the portions were generous and the new, updated restaurant was delightful. Highly recommended!

Absolutely superb meal of braised beef with lots of potatoes and vegetables or salmon or a lovely savoury cheesecake for the veggies. Special price if you have desert as well which was either frangipane and fruit tart or the best lemon roulade ever. Really well organized waitress service and happy, smiley staff. Spot on, thank you.

We have been RHS members forever, have visited Rosemoor since its inception and now use it regularly for just a lovely walk around the garden or to meet friends for lunch. The recent refit of the Garden Kitchen had taken a very long time, longer than predicted but finally, today we met up with old neighbours. The restaurant space is very pleasant and obviously can seat more people than the old layout. However…….. Our staple of homemade soup using produce from the kitchen garden, roll and Devon cheese is gone as are the wonderfully presented and dressed jacket potatoes. (You can have a half jacket if you are a child). Unless you want the special set menu which is now quite expensive your only choices are a ploughmans’ for £12.50 or ciabattas for £10.50. You can sit and have only coffee or tea but if you really just want a light lunch, a sandwich or a pasty for instance, you are now relegated to the cafe………… So sad.

Our second visit to Rosemoor, but our first to the newly renovated Garden Restaurant. We opted for the set price menu of around £18 for 2 courses, and we definitely were not disappointed- the food was delicious. Service, although friendly and helpful, needs to be more organised. It seemed completely haphazard - we never saw the same person twice - and consequently it was very inefficient, with some tables left waiting for quite some time. I am sure that these were ‘teething issues’ for the new summer season, and that it will soon match the standard of the fabulous food.

We stopped off here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the options available. We went for the Sunday lunch and they had a vegan option which was well thought out and absolutely delicious. My husband had the beef roast and said it was cooked to perfection - he described it as better than many places he's deliberately chosen to dine at rather than stumbling in on because it was one of two options available at our location! The children had a sandwich from the cafe as they were being fussy and the staff were fine with them eating the food at our table, which was a relief. One thing that was slightly confusing was that you paid for your meal when you ordered. We'd not realised and, had we known, would have ordered pudding at the same time. As it was, we had to call back the waiter to order the second course. Not a massive issue, just something to be aware of.There was also a mix-up in that I'd ordered a pudding when they'd run out. Being vegan it made everything more complicated, but they ended up getting me a cake from the cafe and refunding the difference. Everyone very pleasant and helpful so it wasn't a big deal.Apparently they've recently reopened and everyone is still getting used to the new system. I got the sense that a lot of the customers weren't happy with it (as they presumed they'd never get their food once they'd paid!) and the staff seemed rushed off their feet and were dealing with a lot of criticism due to it. It's a shame as they were very polite and helpful and doing their best, so hopefully once it's bedded in they'll be given a bit of slack! If we lived locally we'd definitely visit more often (it's only accessible once you've paid for entry to the gardens) but as it is, we'll have to go again in a year or two!Vegetarian options: Excellent vegan option for Sunday Roast. Had sold out of the vegan cake - it's a sign they need more!

Lovely coffee scones and pastry, and good service. Shame they did not serve soups ! Apparently they don't in the Summer, but our visit was in Spring.

We are new members to RHS Rosemoor and decided to visit and have breakfast, on arrival we asked for the breakfast menu and were told its on the board...the selection was a bacon roll or a pastry so very little choice, we decided on a bacon roll each a coffee and a tea. The bacon roll was cold, tea and coffee was OK The cost was very expensive £17 in total for 2 cold rolls a coffee and a tea. A very limited breakfast menu over priced I'm afraid Rosemoor we will no longer be coming for breakfast and I'm afraid we will not be renewing our membership...

I had the most delicious pork pie lunch here, every little thing was clearly lovingly handmade. We sat in the terrace garden on a nice day.I wasn't the one who payed so cant comment on that, i expect it was pricey. but I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a special lunch.

After a pleasant day in the gardens, my visit was spoiled by the inflexibility of staff in the cafe. A cream tea can only be had with tea or an Americano. If you want hot chocolate or espresso or flat white or anything else you have to pay extra. So effectively you have to pay for two drinks even if you only have one.

Our lunch was tasty and all fresh. I would take a guess that the salad was picked from the vegetable gardens. They were very short staffed but dealt with it very well. It was a little on the expensive side. Potentially for a family of 4 you would be looking at over £100 for lunch and drinks.

Amazing space with thousand plants and woodland to see, great for young alike at a very reasonable price, we were greeted by lovely staff that pointed the way, also lovely cafe areas with a wide variety of food and drink also at affordable prices 5 stars from us
