Restaurants in Great Torrington
No 37 Bistro
37 South St, Great Torrington, TorringtonWe had the most delicious cooked breakfast and coffee - all ingredients extremely well chosen and prepared. It is rare to find somewhere that will actually take the trouble to find out how we want our coffee rather than just present us with a generic version. It was delicious. Small details matter and are so much harder to get right than the big stuff. Absolutely charming and helpful owners too. Cannot commend too highly.

Torridge Inn
Torridge Inn, 136 Mill St, Great Torrington, TorringtonThis place has by far the best Thai food around. We never go anywhere else. The decor may not be for everyone but I personally like it and it adds to the deceptive experience. The chef's food is amazing everytime and the front of house guy is so welcoming. Always willing to fit you in where they can if you've popped in on the off chance (always wise to book). Can't wait to come back.We really miss the curry pasties..... So good.

Fork n Feast Cafe
Castle Hill, South St, Great Torrington, TorringtonI've eaten here many times. Always great service and the menu always has a great mix of options - it's always hard to choose as it's all tasty (pancakes with bacon probably my fav). Not the easiest to find in town but worth searching out.

Sandford's Bakery
6 Potacre St, Great Torrington, TorringtonIncredible bakery! Probably a good thing we don't live in Torrington as I'd be in there daily. The variety of choice in cakes is just unreal. Always go in for just a couple of things and come out with double or triple the amount. Best sausage rolls around and the pizza slices are amazing! As a family we often will take a trip to Torrington just to go to Sandford's! ??

The Old Farmhouse Kitchen and Tearoom
East Dodscott Farm, TorringtonI absolutely love this place. I visited yesterday for my friend's birthday and we had such a lovely time sat in the peace and quiet drinking tea and eating delicious food. I had the special, which was hoisin scotch eggs with salad, coleslaw and potato salad and every bite was heavenly! We both had a giant slice of Easter egg cheesecake too (because you cannot visit without having some of the beautifully homemade cake - they are all too good!)Super friendly service from everyone (thank you for the thoughtful gift for my friend!) You can really taste the love and care that has gone in to preparing the food here and I can't wait to go back. Delicious!

Greedy's Snack Bar
Old Bowling Green, Station Hill, Great Torrington, TorringtonGreedys is our favourite stop for a weekend ride. Delicious burgers, sausages etc, with friendly, efficient service. There's usually plenty motorcycles to look at while you eat and chat with their owners. (Other forms of transport are available, everyone welcome)

The Green Lantern Cafe
4-6 High St, Great Torrington, TorringtonWent there for a bite to eat, seemed to be the only place open in the town on that day ( Monday ) They are dog friendly which is a added bonus. Menus were exstensive which was a suprise. We had cakes and scones. Only issue i had was my scone disintegrate when i tried to cut them in half. Lots of butter cream and jam thou. Service was great.

Cavalier Inn
Well St, Great Torrington, TorringtonWe came to Torrington on a short break and this pub is by far the nicest in town - certainly the most welcoming from the outside. The Sunday lunch was nice and accommodates vegetarians too - if you ask. Alcohol seems reasonably priced and service was nice and quick. Good atmosphere.

Kia Ora
33 Well St, Great Torrington, TorringtonThe large cod portions seemed small and the large chips were small compared to Bideford, Westward Ho! and Sticklepath. The fish wasn't as tasty as others we've tried. Shame ..sorry ?
