I absolutely love this place. I visited yesterday for my friend's birthday and we had such a lovely time sat in the peace and quiet drinking tea and eating delicious food. I had the special, which was hoisin scotch eggs with salad, coleslaw and potato salad and every bite was heavenly! We both had a giant slice of Easter egg cheesecake too (because you cannot visit without having some of the beautifully homemade cake - they are all too good!)Super friendly service from everyone (thank you for the thoughtful gift for my friend!) You can really taste the love and care that has gone in to preparing the food here and I can't wait to go back. Delicious!

Excellent food, great service. I had the deluxe hot chocolate, which is a pudding in and of itself! However, the dessert menu was so tempting I had that too! Well worth the trip. Enjoy!

It was one of the best tearooms I have ever visited. The food was amazing, and the service 1st class. It is off the beaten track, but it is really worth the journey. Will definitely go again.Vegetarian options: Chilli Nachos, sandwiches, sausage rolls, cream teas, Ploughman'sDietary restrictions: Lady on another table was gluten free and still had a cream tea. Vegan and vegetarian options.Parking: Small car park in the yard.Kid-friendliness: There was a kids menu and little games on each table to keep the family entertained.

Delicious, homemade food. In an authentic country setting.

Google said it was open. Made special trip to it. Said closed for special event. Very disappointed. Seeing it is so out of the way you would have thought owners would have made an effort to put a note on google when it was closed so as to not inconvenience possible customers. UPDATE: And thank you for your passive-aggressive reply which, with some of your other replies, shows how you cope with negative comments (i.e., you do not try to help someone who has a bad experience to feel better and encourage them to try again which a responsible business does; instead you attempt to make my disappointment even worse by trying to make me feel bad about the review - you didn't, I just told the total truth in order to warn others that making a special trip to you is a risk). Obviously your reply has now certainly guaranteed that when I am back in Devon I will not try visiting you again, and this is all down to you, not me, so don't try involving me in a blame game. Others will have to make up their own minds about your business.

Went here for a cream tea for 2 only to be told they had no scones. The guy offered other cakes but all contained chocolate or a flapjack which were no good as my partner can not eat these as he has allergies.Parking: Small car park.

What a fabulous place, the tearoom came highly recommended by our hosts at The Little Silver House… his advice not to eat breakfast before the afternoon tea was spot on! Minestrone soup to start, Greek salad, sandwiches, sausage rolls and piles of cakes. This was our only meal of the day ? My advice is to call several days before to book ahead- we only just managed to get in on our last day in Devon

Tasty foodHeard good things about this place, so booked a table for lunch. It's a small tea room, but it's has numerous tables outside for when the weather is better. The service is very good and we didn't have to wait long before our food came out.I ordered savory scones with pork terrine and it didn't disappoint, it was very tasty and the portions were generous. They also make they're own cakes and always have a good selection to choose from. The coffee is also very good here.If your looking for a traditional west country place to have lunch, with some great food, then pop yourself along to the Old Farmhouse Kitchen and Tearoom

Be prepared for a drive down a fairly un maintained road thats signposted off the main road to get to it.Also , told they did'nt have wifi ... so how did google know my phone was there ?Otherwise quaint.

Highly recommend. Lovely and friendly. We had the whole tea room to ourselves during a quieter period. The cream teas were exactly what we came for. Very tranquil.

I’ve been taking family & friends to this lovely family run business since they first opened. There’s a nice tearoom & a very big garden area, plenty of well spaced tables. Lots to keep children amused.Ideal for choosing gifts, many are country themed but a good choice of others too. I find the selection of “JellyCat” cuddle toys saves me going into town to search out.Kid-friendliness: There are push-pedal toy vehicles for young children, plenty of other toys and sometimes a trampoline. There are animals to see, enquire about school holiday bookable children’s classes for cupcake/cookie decorating. Lots of grass between tables.Parking: Parking adjacent to the tea-garden. We use one car where practical rather than two or more, but when it’s busy there is parking outside the entrance on grass.

We wanted a classic cream tea on our visit to Devon and hoped for something authentic....this really was a gorgeous, home cooked, cream tea. The scones were as light as a feather and so tasty, the tea, cream and jam also top notch! The service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome along with our dogs. I would definitely recommend this for any cream tea seekers.....
