The Vine Inn Pub and Tearooms may be found at the end of Vine Passage. It's Honiton's equivalent to Platform 9¾ in Harry Potter. At one end is the bustling High Street of our special little Town, and at the other is the peaceful Oasis of the Vine Inn's Garden and it's Warm & Friendly Inn and Tearoom. The Vine is homely and unpretentious and renowned for its Home Cooked Lunches and local Otter Ales served from barrels behind the bar. Most folk prefer to sit in the Pub area and order from the Bar, rather than in the more Spartan Tearoom itself. Oddly, they don't serve Bacon or Sausage Sandwiches which would probably increase their business, so our preferred Breakfast/Brunch order is their Cheese on Toast, which is delicious and so very moreish. Their Home-made Cottage Pie is also highly recommended. Tip - If you order a pot of Tea, always ask for a jug of Hot Water as well. The only negative is their tasty but overpriced Deserts at £7.25. The entrance to Vine Passage is between the Specsavers Shop and Desire Jewellers, but please keep it to yourself!

Wonderful friendly atmosphere. There was a great deal of banter with the staff and regular customers. The meals my daughter and I chose were beautifully presented, hot and extremely delicious. My two dogs were offered treats as well. An altogether excellent experience. We look forward to a return visit.

What a lovely find. I've been coming to Honiton for 20 years and didn't know this place existed. Lovely lawned garden with fairy lights and flowers aplenty. Friendly barman, otter ale and great prices. Seems to have a tea room during the day, we will be back to check that out!

Just superb! Excellent service, food, and setting... and a beautiful garden, too.

Ideal position down a narrow alley jus off the main street. It has an outdoor seating ideal for a snack and a pint of beer

Came across this quaint tea room down an ally. Very friendly staff. Excellent service and food. Very small seating area inside however it is best to sit outside in the cottage garden. Listening to the birds.

We stumbled across the Vine down a little ally. What a find! First rate food, friendly staff and in a lovely little courtyard.

Such a wonderful find! My friends and i just stopped in Honiton for a coffee break after travelling from Woolacombe. However, when we found this lovely place tucked away, and were greeted by such a lovely, cheerful lady, we decided to stay for lunch. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. It is obviously quite popular with the locals, as it was busy, but we had a lovely table in the garden. We can highly recommend this little treasure of Honiton.

This hidden gem is superb. We arrived on a rainy day so couldn't sit in the garden. No matter. We ordered a savory and cream tea. Excellent homemade produce, exquisite chutney and plenty for our money. We would highly recommend this place fore either dining or drinking. We will be sure to return, perhaps to sample some real ales next time.

Very happy to have found this gem in Honiton for lunch! We were welcomed into the little tea room with a lovely warm aga. Lottie the dog was fussed over and given a sausage chopped up in a bowl (that's we paid for) and some free gravy bones ? We both enjoyed the cauliflower cheese with gorgeous homemade bread, and took home a couple of cakes as we couldn't resist. Jon enjoyed his pot of tea. Prices were in line with other eateries, and I would highly recommend visiting here if you have a dog.

We stopped in Honiton on our way home from holiday when our toddler was losing her mind and this was a great find! Ticked away down an alley and well worth the detour for delicious scones, lovely staff and particularly delightfully clean toilets which I always appreciate. It was raining when we visited but the garden was lovely too.

Had a lovely cream tea with a cup of tea so delicious, it didn’t need milk.Sat in the garden which was pleasant.

Visited on Saturday 8 October 2022. I didn't realise till later that we were badly overcharged. We had soup and bread (£6.50) and Cauliflower Cheese with bread roll (£8.75) with one coffee and a pot of tea. Bill came to £27.65 which I estimate to be an overcharge of about £8.00. Take extreme care to check your bill (we were not given a bill) if you visit.

Very nice seafood platter reasonably priced service was very friendly and efficient. The Vine Inn in the same building serves an excellent pint. To top it off a lovely little walled garden to sit in
