40 High St, HonitonHad a lovely family meal for my sons 13th birthday this evening. They were very accommodating to a large get-together of 24 people. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had a range of pizzas and pasta, my Pescatora pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had. Definitely will be going back more often!

McDonald's
North Service Area, J28, M5, Honiton Rd, CullomptonUnderrated, I would rather have a McDonald's burger than a gastro pub burger. Salad is fresh, sensibly priced and you know exactly what you are going to get. Quick turn around and always clean loos. Wouldn't be my first choice for a date, but I'm married and don't get to go out anyway, however for a quick meal, for only slightly more than a supermarket sandwich they are wonderful.Kid-friendliness: Thumbs up

Alis Kebab House
135A High St, HonitonMy acquaintances and I were delighted with the sheer excellence demonstrated by the talented culinary experts working within this marvellous establishment. Put simply, the sustenance provided was exquisite, showcasing the finest ingredients in which I can only presume are locally sourced. I am reliably informed that the front of house attendant upheld tremendous levels of client service towards my houseboy, whom attended the restaurant to receive my nourishment, this feedback was inclusive of an extended conversation arranging the rather serious matter of my delicately fried potato lengths being deliciously seasoned with the finest cheese one can acquire. I will ensure that my upmost recommendation is thoroughly distributed throughout my social circles.

The Sidmouth Arms
Upottery, HonitonWe booked a meal on a whim whilst away, so glad we did. Lovely pub, very friendly staff and the food was faultless. I had a steak which was so tender you could pull it apart with spoons. Hubby had a mixed grill which exceeded all expectations. We were so impressed we cancelled our Sunday roast booking elsewhere after confirming here. You won't be disappointed eating at this establishment, a prime example of a stunning business!

Otter Valley Ice Cream & Field Kitchen
Monkton, HonitonPopped in for lunch. The meze of beetroot humus, babaganouch, salad, olives and flat bread; and the Hawaiin pizza with pulled pork and chilli jam, were fresh, light and really delicious. It was a good choice to share as the conversation turned to: "oh my goodness, try that one...", and so on. Great value; lovely building to appreciate with lots of light and one of the best roadside views in the country. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the manager Chloe. The ice cream should have a PhD. On holiday. We're going back tomorrow!

James’ patisserie & sandwiches
84 High St, HonitonMonday 18th September and we visited this small cafe for lunch. It is located in New Street a short distance off High Street in Honiton. In fairness it was the later end of lunchtime, so it was no surprise when the friendly lady behind the counter explained that not everything on the menu was available. Despite that she managed to rustle up a cheese and ham toastie and an egg mayonnaise baguette. Both were well filled and tasty. We also had two flavoursome well made flat white coffees. There were some mouthwatering cakes, which looked homemade, on display We had an enjoyable lunch with friendly service in a small cafe with a rustic feel.

The Flintlock Inn
Marsh, HonitonFlintlock Inn made my Christmas feast a memorable affair. Starting with the refreshing Haloumi Salad, the festive vibes were set just right. The succulent Roast Leg of Lamb showcased the comforting allure of holiday traditions. Flintlock Inn, a cherished spot in Devon, proved to be more than just a dining experience; it was a celebration of local culinary delights. The Orange Chocolate Cheesecake added a sweet conclusion, leaving me appreciating the festive ambiance and the warmth of a local gem. Flintlock Inn, undoubtedly captures the essence of a delightful Christmas feast.

The Tea Room at the Vine
Vine Passage, HonitonThe Vine Inn Pub and Tearooms may be found at the end of Vine Passage. It's Honiton's equivalent to Platform 9¾ in Harry Potter. At one end is the bustling High Street of our special little Town, and at the other is the peaceful Oasis of the Vine Inn's Garden and it's Warm & Friendly Inn and Tearoom. The Vine is homely and unpretentious and renowned for its Home Cooked Lunches and local Otter Ales served from barrels behind the bar. Most folk prefer to sit in the Pub area and order from the Bar, rather than in the more Spartan Tearoom itself. Oddly, they don't serve Bacon or Sausage Sandwiches which would probably increase their business, so our preferred Breakfast/Brunch order is their Cheese on Toast, which is delicious and so very moreish. Their Home-made Cottage Pie is also highly recommended. Tip - If you order a pot of Tea, always ask for a jug of Hot Water as well. The only negative is their tasty but overpriced Deserts at £7.25. The entrance to Vine Passage is between the Specsavers Shop and Desire Jewellers, but please keep it to yourself!
