“Today my husband and I had lunch at the Ship Inn. Friendly welcome, excellent service and delicious food. We both had liver parfait to start, really tasty with Melba toast. Hubby then had Belly Pork with crackling and I had Sole with a tasty sauce. Both were perfectly cooked. We were both full but decided we needed to try a dessert, so we shared a warm chocolate brownie with ice cream with was yummy. We will definitely be back.”

“We had a lovely lunch at The White Hart Hotel today. We booked a table expecting Friday to be busy but, in fact, we were the only ones there so we had a private dining experience! Such a shame because the restaurant deserves to be busy. The food was excellent. We opted for scallops to start followed by the rack of lamb and the beef short rib. We finished off with a serving of chocolate mousse which was delicious. The chef deserves full marks as does our waiter who was very informative about the ingredients. Please visit, it’s worth it!”

“The imperial is 1 of the best pubs in the local area, Anna and Craig are some of the nicest people. The food is superb, all local produce. Any pub that serves Venison and isn’t afraid of advertising that fact, then t they have my vote.”

“Dropped in on the way back from a day out. Had the Dartmoor Stack burger, and it was the best burger I've had in a long time. Simple but perfectly cooked. It being a double I did have to eat it like an animal, but it was perfectly doable. Quick friendly service too. Dessert portion was generous and prices were reasonable.Parking: Small car park, maybe 7-8 spaces from memoryKid-friendliness: Decent kids menu and a mishmash of weird old-school play equipment in a side garden that my daughter loved :)”

“A very nice, and generous Sunday carvery although the pub itself is a bit tired and scruffy to be honest. Staff always helpful and friendly, large car park too. Sunday seems to attract a lot of old age pensioners it would seem also. I would go there again for a roast. Nearest alternative is the lyneham innVegetarian options: Don't know and don't care”
