great location, very friendly welcome and service, food is good and as you’d expect from a st Austell brewery hostelry establishment, very much appreciated (well honey did) the welcome doggy basket, containing bowls, poo bags and a bag of treats….. lovely touch and definitely softens the £15 dog surcharge, evening meal was good and breakfast was what we all have come to expect from these and premier inn type establishments. Definitely recommendedRooms: Spacious, well equipped and had character

Limited menu for dietary needs, little or no follow up service left waiting . Huge shame as we hoped for more.

Hope cove is a proper secret of the South Devon coast, this pub is perfect for the location. Plenty of tables, right on the beach, good food, friendly worth a visit. Although the menu is good , i hope that in due course, they will change it from time to time as we visit there many times. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, I haven't stayed in the rooms but I have seen them and they look really nice.

We stayed here as going to a friends party. The welcome as we arrived was warm and friendly. There was a lovely buzz throughout the pub and the show round to our room a great touch. We ate but hadn't booked, this was not a problem we were well looked after with attentive service. A great team who looked after everyone who came into the pub to stay, eat or have a drink. Thank you to the Hope and anchor team.

We were staying in Hope Cove as we frequently do this last week. We went to the Hope and Anchor for a drink in the evening before launching ourselves up the cliff path to the Lanterns. We received a very warm welcome from Sam, behind the bar, who was very attentive to our needs and provided a superb service. The other staff were helpful too.It felt really good to be there and so we attended the following night, on Sam’s invitation to the quiz night. What a great fun time that was! It was well executed with good humour and one of the best pub quizzes I’ve ever been to despite the fact our group of four came out bottom (the free consolation prize was very welcome and made getting questions wrong, feel alright£. I would say this well run warm inviting place is a must for anyone visiting Hope Cove. Thanks everyone for. Please pass on our well deserved gratitude, TerryFood & drinks: Great service and attentive staff.
