It was the best cream tea we’ve had! 2 huge scones, lots of fresh cream and jam, a pot of tea and best of all, the scones were nice and warm and fresh! A must for £6.95 a person! It’s a bargain ???Walkability: Short walk from main car parkFood & drinks: Best cream tea for a fantastic price

We popped into this village pub cum restaurant for a bite to eat whilst on holiday staying nearby. We had a really nice evening, the landlord was welcoming and chatted with everyone... and the food was sooo tasty, as was the beer!Food & drinks: A relatively small range of options on the menu but excellant fresh food. The home-made meat pie was the best ever.

Oh my just ordered takeaway fish and chips. The fish was HUGE and cooked to perfection. Delicious and the tartar sauce and minted peas were lovely. Chips were nice . Staff were lovely and a very efficient service.Thank you

Lovely pub and hotel. Great friendly service. We only stayed 1 night. The evening meal was really nice and good value. Left too early for the breakfast. Overall would recommend

Came in for a Sunday lunch and it was the best vegetarian nut roast I have ever had - they also offered gluten free! Delicious food, excellent price and the staff were so friendly. Also had a local cider which was great! I will be back again!

Returning here was a great disappointment as its definitely gone down hill since our earlier visits. Formerly one of our favourite places in Chagford, we were very disappointed after our latest visit. As usual the bar staff were cheerful and welcoming but the elderly lady who handled our table booking on arrival seemed confused and distracted being unable at first to find our booking then being very snappy about seating us. Food service was slow but the biggest letdown was the food. The portion of fish and chips was considerably smaller than previously and was badly overcooked with very browned batter and dried-out fish. The salad garnish applied on top of the hot fish had wilted and was not at all appealing. The pie was OK but the sea bass was badly overcooked and also dry. I understand from a local friend that staff turnover has been high so I'd guess the cook is new. There are plenty of good places to eat in and around Chagford so after 7 years we won't be returning to the Globe.

Absolutely triumph of a meal. The Mushroom (Veggie) Pie was absolutely delicious... but the dessert, woahhhhh, I mean I've had PLENTY of Apple Pie in my time, but not only was the pie yummy, the drops of jam, in the custard!!! GENIUS!!

In the centre of town opp, which to townies like ourselves seemed more like a large village. The staff and people there were friendly and the service provided excellent.Just one minor gripe - we were unable to open room windows otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable stay.I would, in actual fact, give it 4.75 stars.Recommended.

We had a gorgeous cream tea here. Lovely fresh, warm scones with cream and butter and jam. They serve it all afternoon. The barman was really friendly and helpful.

Fantastic food and friendly service, both this year and last. The mushroom and spinach pie was excellent and the chips done perfectly. I hope I'll be in Chagford again in future to come here again!

Delicious food, great service despite being extremely busy in the coronation weekend. Had a lamb dish and was bloody amazing, and my partner had fish and chips which were also amazing. The pudding was out of this world. Pecan pie is to die for! Good selection of local ales.

I've eaten in here a lot, the pies, fish n chips and lamb are great. My main criticism would be the salad was underwhelming and the burgers can be greasy, but still probably the best pub food around for miles.
