Literally the worst food I have every consumed. To the point where my son ended up with acute food poisoning within a matter of hours after eating an uncooked pizza with a pulled pork topping. The staff took this away and returned it to us after further cooking with little apology of financial amendments to our final bill. The roast was poor and over priced compared to local competitors. Simple stuff to get right and you couldn't even do this. There is no excuse for anyone to suffer from food poisoning. You are accountable for every ingredient and food handling process - you need a better robust audit of how your staff are operating in the kitchen. Thankfully my son does not have a compromised immunity but some would. You also seem to attract a certain aged demographic who would suffer greatly if they were to contract food poisoning. Do better.

Usually a lovely place for food and a view, Unfortunately had a poor experience this time around. Our hostess was lovely and apologetic following a mistake. She was very quick to solve it, but this did mean a longer wait than typically expected. Once we had finished our food there was no staff to be seen, after about 30 minutes of waiting (and being the only ones left in our area) someone appeared but refused to provide what had been offered (was ‘downgraded’ to a poor offer) following the mishaps. Very disappointed by the level of customer service and general respect shown to us by the owner at the end.

Cold mussels supposedly cooked freshly to order. No apologies or anything the only thing they said to me is I won't be charged for

Dietary restrictions: We had two coeliacs in our party and we informed the Passage House when we booked the table and they made all the necessary arrangements

We had a Sunday Roast and it was absolutely delicious. Plenty of food and a proper meat gravy. The chef was very very friendly along with all the members of staff. Another bonus was there was an option of a small roast at £10.95, the normal roast was £14.95. We would definitely return for another roast in the future. It was very busy which indicated how popular it was. I would recommend.

First visit. We will be back. I had the liver and bacon. Far too much for me! Service was good. Well looked after. Plenty of choice for a gluten free diet - going to try a pizza next time.

Mixed bag. Christmas Eve. The table we had felt like it was in the middle of the room, no real atmosphere and nothing particularly Christmas like about it. The table wasn't made up correctly apparently so that was corrected but the lady who laid it up was clear to tell us she'd had enough of the Christmas menu and would be glad when it's over - festive warmth. The food itself was reasonable. A few of the staff were excellent when we asked but the table didn't get that much service but all the food arrived together. It's clear the staff just seemed tired and mostly wanted to be elsewhere or maybe just focused on the Christmas Day arrangements. It wasn't ridiculously expensive but given it was supposed to be a nice Christmas Eve meal it didn't but the spot overall in the festivities. Thanks to those serving us who did make the effort.
