Recently moved to the area and decided to try the Fountain chip shop. Prices were reasonable, chips were hot and tasty, and large sausage was full of flavour. Will definitely buy from here again.

Possible the worst fish and chip shop I have had . Ordered 2 large chips which ended up with a small. Over cooked battard sausage which taste absolutely disgusting the oil was a thick tangy taste . Wife had a chicken. Burger with soggy salad .she didn't enjoy it either. Such a shame as this chip shop seems lovely and good reviews. Massively let down on this occasion.

The fish was like something you buy from Iceland……bland with little batter. Chips were greasy. The only nice food was the gravy which masked all the other flavours or non flavours. Rubbish food for the money.
Large cod and mini cod with chips ordered at peak Friday time 6pm. Portion size no problem, chips very good, fish absolutely awful. The thick leathery oil soggy batter was hiding a pathetic thin watery fish fillet. I should have said forget it as he picked it up with the tongs and the fat oozed out of it like a sponge. I wish I had sat in the Bell up the road for £2 more freshly cooked and peas included. I suspect some of these other reviews of late are fake or business owner friends.

I very rarely have chippy as it always makes me feel a bit sick. But we got chippy from the fountain the other day, and it was tasty, not greasy, good prices and portions. And it didn't make me feel sick. Win win. Thanks, guys. We will be back ASAP.

Had sausage and chips from them a few times and was really nice up untill today, a massive long black hair wrapped around my chips nearly puked, I shall not being returning again! Disgusting.
