I was recently in with a work colleague, and my experience could have been better; I felt the price of the food was utterly unjustified based on the portion size. I also felt rushed to order as I was at the door and had barely sat down. The table was also sticky from previous customers and needed to be cleaned to a better standard.

Nice ambience but food was not great for the price. At £52 for lunches and coffee for four it could be better. The cheese salad had a lot of grated cheese plonked on top. No chutney or anything to make it special. The bread was not granary but cheap dry light brown, only one slice which fell apart when the freezing cold butter was added. The prawns on my salad were plentiful, but no lemon slice and only half a tomato with a great deal of lettuce. The other food; a fried breakfast and French toast were okay. Pity it wasn’t more special because we were celebrating a birthday.

I had scrambled eggs on toast followed by a scone. The scrambled eggs were very ordinary and there was little evidence of the butter there was supposed to be on the toast. The scone was fine. Overall rather pricey and would not re-visit.

Worthwhile town centre cafe restaurant. Great waitress. Very chatty.

Looks lovely on the outside and the coffee isn’t bad but a 45 min wait when it wasn’t busy was a joke and the food was terrible dried out and extremely expensive. I would recommend weatherspoons over this place and that’s saying something.

This cafe is so expensive! Not the best quality food either. Service is awful, no one smiles. They also take your money halfway through when you’re eating or drinking instead of paying after like normal. It feels very rude paying at your table before you eat. They also charge an extortionate amount if you want to upgrade from normal fries to sweet potato fries (£2.50) the “steak” burger I had was just a tiny processed patty. It was definitely not steak.I won’t be returning here because I feel ripped off every time I’ve gone and the older lady that works there or runs the place (always there so I’m assuming she runs it) is just miserable and rude. The atmosphere isn’t great. They would rather loose customers then offer customer satisfaction and quality.I’d rather spend my money where it’s appreciated and valued. There’s no point wasting your hard earned money in places where you’re going to feel disappointed and ripped off.

The tea was SO STEWED by the time it got to us but that's because a good 15 minutes plus had passed by the time it was brought out. Two tannic teas and a bit - and I do mean a bit - of cake for £8.50... you'll get better around the corner at Dot's, honest :)
