Convenient to where we were staying and recommended but lacked any buzz about the restaurant. Food we had was ok but not inspiring and very little choice. Over priced for what it was and subsequent meals in Salcombe area for better food was almost half the price

Fantastic meal, waitresses were very friendly and extremely attentive. The flavours in the food were amazing and we also got to meet Dick as an added bonus. Great location and thoroughly recommend it.

We ate there 3 nights during our stay and was fabulous… all the little waitresses were superb and very welcoming and efficient. The menu is ample but perhaps some “ special dishes of the day” in addition would be amazing. Set in the most fantastic location ever! Lovely to meet Dick and thanks for the chat and your time. We really enjoyed our visits and hope to see you again.

Nice place. Lots of young staff, food was good but overpriced....£29 for a small bowl of king prawn linguine is in the fine dining bracket. At least they didn't over cook the prawns. Left hungry and £130 lighter in the wallet. Got Ice creams on the way home ?. Food was 4 star but overall am giving it 3 due to price. 2 adults and 2 kids crammed onto a single table (normally used for 2) too many glasses on the table, water jug and more turned it into a game of chess. Pretty sure pricing was just to keep the commoners out.

Booked this as we have been many times. They had an incorrect booking for us, had been given an outside table on original email changed to inside at a different time but when we arrived the original booking listed. The menu is now very limited and the quality of food was not as good as previously and the prices have increased beyond what we would expect.

My partner and I had the most lovely meal here the other evening! The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was superb. We highly recommend the ‘king prawn aloo Gobi’ and the ‘king prawn linguine’ both cooked perfectly! Whilst this restaurant is on the ‘pricey’ side, that’s not uncommon for anywhere in Salcombe and they make up for it with the wonderful food, staff and view! We hope to be back next year!

Visited Dick and Wills this evening. Was disappointed to see the choice of artwork in the gents bathroom. I took some photos to show my family and friends. The females around the table remarked that there was previously similar artwork in the ladies bathroom which has been removed in recent years. We were all surprised this still remains in the gents and would strongly encourage the owners/management to dispose of these and replace them with more tasteful artwork. Food was decent so such a shame this is the image they want to portray to their customers.

Amazing food, service & atmosphere as always. Never fails to deliver. Great bistro style restaurant, stunning views of the waters edge! Give of us for supper, absolutely delicious! Totally recommend this restaurant!

Booked a table for 2 indoors after being told there were no tables outside. On arrival there were 3 or 4 tables free outside. We ordered food and drinks, and waited over 1 hour for the food - but no one had mentioned there was a wait on food, nor was it acknowledged. We asked whilst waiting to move outside to the vacant tables with a view, twice, and on the second time we were successful. Food was nice but overpriced and not exceptional. To add insult to injury, they added a service charge anyway to the bill.Given the abundance of fresh seafood in the area, its a shame everything on the menu was deep fried. Wouldn't go again.

We have been going to Dick and Wills for many years and know the owners. Last night’s meal was fabulous we were outside but under cover with heaters to keep us cosy. We were a table of 6 and everyone said how delicious the food was the service was slick and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re anywhere near Salcombe.

Food was good but service was poor, annoyed, booked our table before our holiday but seated in the back room, no view!! On leaving the premises annoyed to find several tables inside with a view!! Probably kept for regulars! We felt we were ignored, service charge was included which I totally disagree with, poor service, no view. Wouldn’t recommend.

Disappointing and cannot recommend at all. Live locally but haven't been here for a couple of years, now a very different experience. To say “over-priced pub food” would be a discredit to the pubs, sorry to say. The starters were just OK, although the tempura was greasy but all were over-priced. The mains were for the most part awful, especially the curry and the burgers, the linguine was tolerable my guest informed me, but at these prices one expects 4 superb dishes for each course. Please don’t eat here and think this is representative of the food in the South Hams, as there are far better choices for a great deal less money.

We stayed in Salcombe for a couple of nights for our anniversary and saw the ratings for this place so thought yeah let go for it. The restaurant itself is very impressive, lots of steps from street level down to a quayside level dining experience. Nice decor and great views. We were sat near a table of tourists with kids that were super whiny and loud. At one stage they imposed on our space to take a selfie. We live in a coastal town in Devon so expect some visitors enjoying themselves, but these were just plain rude. Food was reasonable, my wife had fish and chips while I had the steak- I always opt for seafood but found the menu restrictive, I can get better fish and chips back home but the steak was excellent nevertheless. So, wrong time wrong neighbours and a bit of a boring menu. Lovely restaurant though.

Very ordinary food at extraordinary prices. View is great !!. Probably go elsewhere I think as the point of a restaurant is the food not the view.

We were lucky to get a cancellation on a Saturday night. The access is a bit weird but the restaurant itself is great with wonderful views over the estuary. The service was good, but the sea-food was spectacular - interesting choices superbly cooked. The best frito misto we have had for ages with beautiful tempura batter
