“The food is lovely, the staff are lovely and in normal circumstances the atmosphere is lovely. There was a mass table of feral children shouting and screaming which spoilt the evening. It is a shame that parents can allow kids to behave this way when others are paying good money for what would be a lovely meal in an excellent restaurant. I give Smugglers Kitchen 5 stars as this is not their fault but maybe have a continguency plan to remind parents to keep children under control.”

“A family run pub, cosy, GREAT food and drink and impeccable service. It’s impossible not to feel welcome and special when you come here for food or just a drink. Lovely place to come with family and friends!”

“We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. We had a fairly large sized group, but that was no issue for them. We all had a lovely meal, I had the tomatoe soup and goats cheese with beetroot. The atmosphere was great, had steady stream of people but wasn't too busy. Service was great, you order at the bar but they checked a couple of things so they didn't get it wrong. We walked to the other pub in Branscombe but found it way too busy”

“A lovely freehouse in a lovely village. Didn't lean into the 'barrel of beer' in beer vibe too much, and seems to have a great balance between food during the day (which we sadly missed) and a drinkers pub in the evening. We were made to feel very welcome despite being obvious tourists - and a great selection of beers were on tap. Thoroughly recommended!”
