Lovely cafe. Very welcoming with the children and dogs. A refreshing change to the one we tried before this. Lovely cappuccino and fresh chips! Huge prawns on my prawn sandwich. Will definitely return.Kid-friendliness: VeryWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair lift

Lovely cafe just off the sea front on the high street, had an hot chocolate and the open mushrooms on toast in a blue cheese sauce absolutely delicious, the wife had a baked potato with sour cream, bacon and cheddar cheese. Love the atmosphere plenty of art work displayed around, friendly staff highly recommend for lunch.

Booked for Xmas Eve but nobody informed us at the time of the booking that it was the breakfast only menu. Thanks for that and my wasted journey and time. In response to your reply......It apoears you feel the fact you had stated on the door of the premises that you were closing early somehow appears to make it my fault. We booked by phone some time ago, I don't expect to have to check a booking physically for further information at the premises prior to attending or traverse its media in case it omitted to tell us something rather important that it ought to as a matter of courtesy have told me at the time. The 1* rating reflects the hassle of trying to find an alternative at no notice on Christmas Eve and the lack of explanation at the time of the booking, clearly the £££s are more important than managing a customers expectations for xmas eve lunch. Thankfully the Blue Ball provided excellent food and didn't close early allowing us to take our time and enjoy the occasion... as well as a breakfast only menu you also didn't feel the need to tell us when we booked for 12.30 that we'd have 90 minutes to eat up and leave as you were closing early, but then clearly I am meant to check all of this myself rather than expect a business to advise me of these restrictions on a very popular and busy day to eat out.

14 Miles East has become my favourite place in Sidmouth; for breakfast or lunch, after a mile walk down the byes it's a welcoming friendly venue with great coffee and food.. ? Graham B

I highly recommend the Full English - nicely presented, beautifully cooked and very tasty. A nice fat delicious sausage, couple of rashers of good quality bacon, very tasty tomato, scrummy mushrooms, nice rich eggs, good serving of beans and a thick slice of granary toast with a posh pat of butter. AND the coffee is delicious. Friendly staff and a sea view. What more could you ask for? Oh, and the breakfast is £2 or so cheaper than another cafe on the seafront.

Stopped for breakfast on Saturday 28 September 2023. Pleasant, clean and light environment. Staff were all polite and efficient. Great food and drinks. Very tasty. Good value for money. Would recommend and will be back.

Popped in here for an early lunch on a wet and windy day. Not loads of choice for small lunches and the prices seemed a little high (holiday prices) so I had a fish finger sandwich and hoped for the best. It arrived. I take it all back. It was gorgeous, absolutely huge and worth every penny. I eyed up some other people's meals as well and they all looked lovely. Staff were friendly, service was good, and the place filled up while we were there (always a good sign). Would definitely visit again.

Loved it! Great gluten free food and kids menu at reasonable prices! Lovely setting near the sea front. Dog friendly

Food nice, atmosphere nice but service a bit slow which meant we needed to follow up a lot.. hence 4 stars. Nice views if you get the right seat so would return for that! :)

The chicken skewers are to die for. Very friendly, the only thing that let it down was sugar lumps in jars. Apart from that, it's a lovely restaurant.
