A very humble-looking bakery but don’t be deceived! The food is absolutely sensational. The traditional pasty is delicious and so is their jam doughnut!

A breakfast bap on granary bread with an Eccles cake and coffee. I wasn't going to have the cake but it was a meal deal and made it cheaper. Two eggs, sausages, and heaps of crispy bacon in the bap... excellent taste! It was all for £5.45, I don't know how they do it ?

Hot pasties are so so tasty granary loaf is the best bread tasted in a long time. They also do mini pasties for children without the crimped pastry.Delighted with everything we purchased, well worth a visit.

My go to bakery when in Sidmouth. Good food at reasonable prices.

Caring staff and a good range of bashed goods. Sadly lots of palm oil being used.

I visited this bakery 7th Oct 21, I was being my friendly self but I got a little confused over the meal deal offer, anyway cut a long story short I purchased my lunch along with my husband & grown up children I was very grateful for their patience with me, as I do struggle to understand things, I paid for all my goods and even told the lady to keep the £1.25 change and to donate to one of their charity pots (she chose Devon air ambulance) on my exit from the shop the ladies started to gossip and say “she seemed like she has issues” but the silly ladies didn’t realise my Mothers husband was still in the shop (I didn’t make any contact him as he was being served) I guess the ladies didn’t realise as he has a Yorkshire accent and I’m not from Yorkshire. I went back into the shop, to ask was their comment true? To which, they couldn’t apologise enough and said they didn’t mean it like that? 2 grown woman being nasty like that towards undeserving customers! Don’t bother visiting.

Ate here early on a Thursday evening which was Tapas night. The restaurant is lovely, really well decorated and had a relaxing atmosphere with the lights and pictures and is much better than it looks from the outside. An added bonus is that it is dog friendly and there was plenty of space around the tables. We had a nice meal, there was a good selection of dishes and a delicious Rioja suggested as an accompaniment, although it could have been colder. Would definitely return to try the menus on a different night.

Firstly you certainly need to know where this place is! Once you’ve got that bit out of the way, booked your table ( ask for a window seat) you’re almost there! On arrival you’re greeted by extremely proficient staff, guided to your table and presented with the menu. You’re certainly not rushed, so don’t! Take in your view, your choice of fayre, your wine and eventually some wonderful cuisine. ENJOY!

Only went in the one night as my wife & I like Tapas. Not disappointed. A good menu selection, all well cooked. Must say the staff were a delight. All welcoming & most friendly. Even changing a glass was no trouble. My only negative is that the place could be a bit cleaner & tidier. (Get the dusters out). Nevertheless would still eat here again, probably on a Thursday !

From the moment we set foot in The Loft to when we left it was a very pleasant experience, we were greeted warmly and guided to our table, the staff were attentive but not bothersome. The menu was varied and very well presented cooked as requested and tasty, even some modifications to the standard menu were accommodated without question. But the real surprise was the bill in most restaurants you would have had to pay an awful lot more for such a fine meal. At under £35 a head including drinks you can't go wrong.

Lovely staff, lovely ambiance just really let down by food tonight. Tasty Camembert starter followed by the poussin which was in a sweet and herby marinade but overall a bit dry. But not as bad as the calamari which was heavily beer battered and the batter was holding the oil. Every mouthful was greasy and could not be finished. They kindly refunded and offered something else but husband had been put off food by then sadly. Shame when you’ve been looking forward to going out and we really wanted to like everything but not great tonight I’m afraid.
