Well , what can I say. We were going to stay here and then Covid lockdown started and then we forgot about this place.Booker again yesterday for afternoon tea. Well what can I say, it will not disappoint you , they treat you like ladies and lord. Staff calls you by your last name.Afternoon tea is not cheap like other people said , but it is an experience , I would book it again for a special occasion , and we will be booking it for a dinner in near future.Welcoming place , now I can see what Alex means.Ladies remember to dress nicely and gentlemen to wear a nice shirt. There is no dress code , but it will enhance your experience.Enjoy ?

Absolutely perfect 4 nights in a wonderful house. The hotel is in the middle of the forest with a fabulous view across the river. The services are almost perfect. The service is fast and pleasant. Breakfast and dinner were a wonderful experience. The only thing I missed were slippers in the room. Otherwise, I look forward to my next visit.

Exceeded all expectations. So much so that we extended our stay.Food & Room: 4.5/5My wife and I stayed at the Endsleigh hotel after deciding to stay in the UK for a ‘minimoon’, post wedding.Mid week, early September, the weather was delightful. We approached the mile long drive down to the grade 1 listed hotel, located on the edge of Dartmoor. Surrounded by so many trees, it really does have a magical feel to it.A very smiley gentleman named Paul greeted us and made us feel very welcome followed shortly by an equally warm and lovely reception from Keira on the front desk - nothing was too much trouble, we were given an option of two effortlessly stylish rooms, our bags were whisked off whilst we were led out to the front lawn where we drank champagne with the most stunning view overlooking the Tamar River. We didn’t leave the grounds of the hotel for our entire stay… there is a beautiful walk through the gardens and along the river and it really is the perfect place to unwind and do nothing but relax, drink and eat great food. It’s clear the hotel attracts a slightly older clientele, written as someone in their mid thirties. It’s understandable when taking into account its location and setup. There is no pool, or tennis courts and as much as those things appeal I wouldn’t change a thing. The service was exceptional. Krzysztof clearly runs a tight ship. Just the right tone - friendly, discreetly stylish, comfortable, quiet, surrounded by lovely gardens, a superb setting, wonderful staff and the most excellent food.Truly impressed and value for money.Thank you again to Keira, Paul & Krzysztof.Rooms: Effortlessly stylishFood & drinks: Exceptional foodNoteworthy details: The staff, environment and ambiance

We came upon this lovely hotel driving through Devon It is a true old hotel (1820s) with an amazing garden designed by a protege of Capability Brown The garden is made on the hillside of a wonderful secret Coombe and is a must for historical garden buffs and other folk who like nature The hotel is very genuine and has a very good chef ( we enjoyed a long lunch on the terrace) The staff are most obliging and coped well with my strange dietary needs. If you want to stay in Devon ( on the edge of Cornwall!) then stay here . We are going back !

Beautiful gardens and delicious cream tea. The team accommodated our large group very well (given we had 8 children in tow). It was a really special afternoon.

They forgot to put tea in the teapot. Found mole traps and a dead mole on the front lawn. Their manicured lawn comes at the expense of local fauna. Would have preferred to have met a happy mole and a slightly dug up lawn. A long bumpy journey to Derriford orthopaedics with a three year olds mangled arm wouldn't feel very five star, but at least the lawn would still be pristine. Still a better fate than that of the poor mole we saw.

Visited Endsleigh for a two night late summer stay. As always, there is a lovely, calm and peaceful atmosphere where you can read and play board games in peace and quiet. We stayed in room 10, with a large bed and very comfortable seating area for two. The bathroom is spacious and the shower had excellent water pressure. Turndown service each night provided extra water etc and, whilst at breakfast the room was made up. Food is excellent and both evening meals were of a very good quality. Lunch time offerings are plentiful too. Service is discreet and nothing is too much trouble. Only a few things prevented a five star review. We arrived post wedding and the portable toilets remained on property for a few days, with the loungers also stacked up and only laid back out on the day of departure. There were some glass bottles from the wedding scattered around the gardens too. Corridors, upstairs, in the main hotel could do with a little attention, ironing boards were left leaning on the walls and laundry bags etc left in empty door frames. It felt unloved and tired. That’s being said, Endsleigh is a lovely, peaceful getaway and we will be sure to return.

We recently visited for lunch. As ever it did not disappoint. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we were looked after very well and appreciated all the little luxurious touches . The interiors are just effortlessly stylish and relaxing. The gardens are maintained beautifully with all round interest. The food was delicious and we enjoyed being in one of the private dining rooms where we could chat freely. Lovely walk and game of croquet afterwards in the grounds. The only unpleasant surprise was the £4.50 charge for a single espresso. Way way too high. This will not deter us from returning in the future though as we thought everything else was superb.

Looked forward to our stay. Not cheap, in fact quite a dear do.Room was tired, ill fitting carpet frayed at edges, lack of maintenance shows in the detail.I suppose the issue for me was the family name and the hotel inspector connection, expectations were too high because of it and any flaw just stood out like a sore thumb. But I’ve stayed there now, so no need to return.

Fantastic location in beautiful spot overlooking the River Tamar. We had booked late so had the smallest room and bed ? but it was tastefully decorated with really good shower. The other bigger rooms and suites looked fab so would be nice to go back and experience one of these. Apart from a limp welcome at reception the staff were excellent. The food was of an excellent standard at breakfast lunch and dinner! Unfortunately we did not have great weather and we still enjoyed it so would be nice to be able to sit in the gardens and eat and drink outside in the sun as it was delightful on the terrace. The gardens are magnificent with some amazing plants and trees. For a short break I would highly recommend.

Just stayed there for the fifth time and can’t wait to visit again. It is my favourite Hotel. The Hotel and gardens are breathtaking - so beautiful - but what really makes it is the staff who are all so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The food was great. I really cannot fault it.

The gardens are wonderfully dramatic both around the ravine and the long herbaceous boarder. The walk to the waterfall is well worth it but be warned even in July it was steep and very muddy. The peace and tranquility continues up to the sweeping lawned terrace where for the price of a pub lunch you can enjoy superbly cooked food. I can highly recommend the risotto and the local cider, whilst watching fledgling swallows speed by.I will definitely return sometime.

I had a wonderful mini moon at hotel endsleigh. Me, my husband and our labrador stayed in suite 19 and it was absolutely perfect. Large lounge with dining table, fire place and tv. Tea area with nespresso coffee machine and also a W/C. Our suite had a lot of storage space, large bathroom with stand alone bath with twin rainfall shower. The bedroom had a superking bed , dyson fan and tv and the nicest crisp white linen. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and made our stay perfect. The food was exceptional and the grounds were dreamy. Thank you for making the stay perfect!
