Australian tourists in Tavistock. The Indian was different than we are used to but was excellent . We enjoyed everything we ordered. We ordered two naan but should have ordered one as they were huge. A big thumbs up from us.
Amazing food every time amazing service the venue is a tad cramped and dark but the delicious food definitely makes up for that
2 meals no drinks over £70?? Seriously? Less than impressed by the starters, waiter didn't even know what he brought out! Dupiazi was more like jalfrezi. Meat was chewy. Chips were over cooked. Poppadoms basic. Place was like a restaurant from the 1980's. Sorry but just avoid. Though considering we went on a Friday night and there was only 3 tables sat (including ours), suspect word is getting around anyway.
We ordered a korma and a tikka masala to share the korma was nice but the tikka was awful far to salty when we told the manager he said it was fine it was because we didn’t order rice ! Very disappointed!
Wow.! We have just had our first takeaway from here and it was delicious. The chicken rogan josh was full of big chunks of chicken. Juicy and cooked to perfection. The veg tikka was literally the best I have ever tasted. We had the pilau rice with poppadoms. I also had a peshwari naan. Again, the nicest I've had so far. Complimentary yoghurt riata and onion and tomato.Customer service is Fab.Our usual takeaway was closed. However this will now be our go to for food.I honestly can't recommend it enough.
A superb meal, everything freshly cooked, very tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Great food great service, best curry I’ve ever had highly recommend
Very expensive Indian for quality of food, wasn’t
Great food..hot and
Amazing and friendly service. The young waiters were polite and qualified. The food was well made and delicious. I’m highly satisfied with my experience in this place. Would hugely recommend this place to come. We left well deserved tips for the waiters.
Restaurantji Recommends
I used to use ethe Ganges regularly for both dining in and takeaways. Last night we had the latter. Soggy poppadums, undercooked onion bhajees and two watery curries. The pulau rice was the only dish cooked properly. Maybe the restaurant has changed hands as the two guys serving were both white Europeans. Whatever it was a dreadful meal. Despite being local we won't be returning.
Got a very nice take away..
Always absolutely excellent. Great friendly service and fantastic food at reasonable prices. Our preferred takeaway for years. Consistently excellent.
Beautiful ambience, the soft music and decor is cool. The waiters were polite. Naan bread was very nice, the mushroom rice can be better. Rogan Josh was really good. Prawn curry was just there, I wasn't impressed with it. Papadums were really nice, with the mint sauce & mango chutney. The sparkling lemonade was really good too, would be better with a little vodka ?The wait time after ordering was about 30-40mins+ that's too long for me.Lovely place really, next time I'll just do takeout because the cost of eating in is like x2 of takeout.
Went to the resteraunt on 18th September, I couldn't fault it. Great food and plenty of it with very good service. I would highly recommend this place. Slightly top end on price but its well worth the extra.
