Was ok.. not well sign posted from the road as it is down a lane in the middle of nowhere. Don't rely on your satnav. Afternoon tea was good and plenty of it. Staff were good and nothing was too much trouble, but there was just something missing...Won't rush back.Food & drinks: Afternoon tea was good.

We got married at the horn of plenty in August and we had the most incredibly magic day.All the staff were amazing from our first visit until we left the following day. Every single member of staff was professional, helpful, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was outstanding. We will be visiting again without a doubt!

Stunning views, amazing food, excellent service. Absolutely fantastic place. From now on one of my favourite places. Thank you so much for our experience today!

Visited with my mum and sister for lunch. The food was well cooked and well presented. The service was impeccable. The wine quality was excellent considering we didn't choose a "name". The location and views are stunning. Thank you to Jeremy for a friendly chat, and particularly for the wine! Wish I lived nearer so I could come more often.

Disappointed. Stayed here for a wedding and though the location is perfect, the hotel and service not so great. Room 2 is dated and smells musty. At £210 per night it was a huge disappointment. Of all the rooms in the main house this is definitely the worst and should be avoided.Hotel service was good in some places, breakfast especially, however being told to "get everyone back to their rooms" at midnight on the wedding night is unacceptable. A LOT of money was spent on the wedding and for the day to end like that was unacceptable.

Checked with the hotel before I booked that the beds were firm and recent (I have a problem with my back). Was told they were new and firm. Got to the room to find that the bed was soft, springs had gone, the matress had obviously been there a long time. You can see the side of the matress had collapsed on the attached photos, also the bed I made up on the floor. The lady on the front desk fortunately found some lounger seats I used as a matress. No spare matresses, was told none of the other rooms in the house had better beds, those in the extension might be better but were fully booked. Very poor night's sleep. Rubbish hotel, recommend staying somewhere else if you need a decent bed. Not a cheap place to stay either.

This was our sixth stay at the lovely, relaxing and homely HOP! It didn’t disappoint. We are delighted that the new owner has retained the high levels of food, service and comfort that we had enjoyed during all our previous stays. ALL the staff at the HOP are friendly, efficient and welcoming and made our stay all the more enjoyable. The icing on the cake was restaurant manager Sarah’s arrangement for one of the guests to play the piano during dinner on two consecutive evenings which was very memorable and romantic. Thank you to the staff and management.

Visited for lunch.Beautiful venue, the views are stunning. The food and the service were both impeccable. Lunch for a 3 course meal was only £30 a head... Which for the quality is very cheap I'd have been happy paying £50 a head easily.Highly recommend.

A lovely restaurant set in the Devon countryside. Fantastic views. The staff are excellent, very attentive. Ryan our waiter couldn’t have done a better job looking after us. The food was excellent. We had a rest between every course which was instigated by the staff. Our only adverse comment was the steps entering only had a railing one side. I’m not the most agile and it would have been nice. There is wheelchair access to the rear but it is nice to enter by the front door. I recommend the to finish with the cheese board. All local cheese.
