A cosy tavern on the fringes of Dartmoor. Plenty of choice when it comes to ales, ciders and lagers. Friendly helpful bar staff and a comfortable atmosphere all round. Well behaved dogs welcome. A covered patio area overlooking the wooded valley below with beautiful views of Dartmoor beyond. I didn't notice whether food was on offer. Will certainly calk in again for a pint after a day walking the Moor. Thanks.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch after spending the morning at Cholwell Riding Stables nearby. What a total gem! Fantastic atmosphere and even better food - we’d never tasted better omelettes in our lives! Plus their chocolate orange torte is to die for… Proper home-cooked food in a cozy pub, what more could you ask for?

Willow our french mastiff was made to feel welcome and got alot of fuss. Service was absolutely perfect! The gentleman behind the bar was fab, our waitress was fab, food was nice. Drinks selection fab. Our stay in the field part of the carpark.. fab! We will be back ?

This pub is warm, cosy and friendly. The food is outstanding- great tasting, home/locally made and cooked perfectly. Attentive staff who knew their menu and take good care of the customers. Highly recommend this place for eating/relaxing. Couldn’t be better.

What a lovely place. Came here for Sunday roast. It was excellent and I can't fault it. The service was quick and all of the staff were really friendly. It got quite busy and a few people who just turned up at the off chance were turned away so you'll need to book.Good choice of Devon draught ales and ciders.A good mix of locals and visitors. If I had to mark anything down it would be the dessert..not big enough lol!

Called in to watch the rugby semi final and stayed for supper and a few ales. Parked up in the field for free with my van and had a great Friday evening. Will definitely call back and hopefully there'll be space to park again as there's only room for a few campers.
