New Year's Day Lunch - Warm welcome from receptionist who noted our booking contained one dietary requirement (reassuring), pleasant and efficient restaurant staff despite it being a busy day, excellent and varied menu fairly priced.

Very slow service. We were waiting 45 minutes for our food!Vegetarian options: Not a lot of choice.Parking: Difficult to park. Bays at angles. Large vehicle almost blocked the exit.Wheelchair accessibility: Has a lift.

Ate in the bar area with friends. Odd clash of furniture with the old fashioned space. Staff ok but one bar team trying to serve bar drinks to bar and restaurant as well as stocking up. Duty manager clearly too important to serve our drinks, instead chasing off to find bar person. Food was VERY expensive for what it was, £21.50 for fish and chips? Highly rated nearby restaurant charge £19.50 for superior quality. Dessert and cheese priced better. All of us local, had hoped for better so we would have reason to revisit out of summer season.

The food here is very nice, I came here as part of a wedding party and found the main meal to be short on portion size but very tasty.A couple in the lounge had scamp and that smelled really good.

Had full afternoon tea, scones were good, sandwiches were a bit boring. Would be nice if they did a savoury tea, my Husband is the cake person he enjoyed it. Staff were really helpfulParking: About 40 slotsWheelchair accessibility: Have a disabled lift

Thoroughly enjoyable lunch with friends, varied choice of menu and very friendly staff made our visit most memorable. You will not be disappointed, we will be back.
Had sandwiches here and they were nothing to shout about. Bread wasn’t very fresh and the filling was sparse.

Visiting the Christmas market 4 of us decided to have lunch at the Bedford. Several years since our last visit - still quite dated and old fashioned but busy. Very disappointed with the limited menu which had only one vegetarian option - jackfruit curry! Very strange combinations - traditional Ploughman's and chicken burger both with onion bhaji? Don't think so! Hake with pakchoi? Not one starter appealed to any of us so went straight for the main dishes. 3 chose the fish and chips which were okay and quite large portions. I chose the ham, egg and chips. Well, I don't even know where to begin! A portion of chips served separately and a plate half covered with watercress. A rectangular shape covered in a liquid cream coloured sauce. Where was the ham? The poached egg? Absolutely disgusting! The waitress told me it was 'pressed ham' but it was just a mess of what looked like shredded pink meat soaked in the sauce. the egg was on the top also covered in this sauce? I did try a few mouthfuls but it was so salty and so soggy I left the rest. We didn't bother with desserts and won't be returning. Read less

We had a fantastic Christmas party at The Bedford and stayed the night . The food was incredible and catered for all allergies we had fish and garlic in our group and nothing was too much trouble for the chefs( tasty plentiful and hot) the casino night was such great fun . The disco had varied fun music , the staff were professional and happy to help with any request . The bed was comfy . The room was clean and modern . Breakfast in the morning was perfect . Overall a fabulous stay would highly recommend.
