Beautiful location and venue, ok food, grumpy service. We visited here as a treat with our children (well behaved may I add) and were greeted with a miserable waitress, who didn’t make eye contact, sent us to our table, put down the menus and walked off. No smile, no chat, nothing. She returned to take our order, absolutely no interaction again. We felt awkward. Are children a problem for you or are the staff just grumpy? We ordered, asking for a drink extra hot is a problem for this waitress, yes I spotted the eye roll. She returned with the drinks, put them down and walked off. Still no smile or chat. The food is a very limited brunch menu, nothing child friendly but we made do with toast. Our hot food arrived pretty dry and unappealing, but when the waitress appeared to ask if all was ok we dare not cross her to tell her. It was actually not very nice. We had high hopes but sadly overall just a massive let down. We certainly wouldn’t recommend visiting with children, we definitely felt this was a problem for them even though our children are very well behaved.Given that the venue is beautiful, the food and service just didn’t live up to our expectations at all. It’s very pricy for the quality of the hot dishes, and the 10% service charge was pretty insulting given that the service was absent! On a positive, when we came to pay a different waitress did this for us and she was very pleasant!

Creative cuisine in a light, airy location. Busy, but staff very welcoming and the food superbly prepared and presented.

Delicious varied menu with great vegan options. Packed at 3pm on a Thursday. Looking forward to my next

Went this weekend for a family meal. The food was great, some of it was exceptional (scallops and pavlova), but the experience was badly let down by very sulky service. One of us is a coeliac so we have to be extra careful to avoid gluten. When trying to order ice cream and make sure the tuile didn't have gluten we were sternly told to "stop talking about the gluten". I don't think the waitress looking after us managed to smile even once.Looking through some other low score reviews it often appears to be about poor service, which is a shame for such a lovely venue and location.

Thank you LK team for the most wonderful breakfast we had on Mother's Day! As always, the food was prepared to perfection and tasted truly delightful. The Lost Kitchen ambience is simply divine and the staff are always cheerful, attentive and welcoming. How lucky are we to have this jewel on our doorstep! See you soon!

Lost Kitchen - lost pizzaPopped in for a pizza today, only me on my own. I've been before & it's been good. Upon arrival they've got a sign out saying reservations only, but it was probably only half full - I asked anyway & got a vast table to myself. Why the sign? All I wanted was a pizza, it got to 45 mins before a batch of sliced bread & olive oil appeared & a lady saying the kitchen had lost my ticket, as if it wasn't their fault! I said I needed to get on, anyway another 10 mins & it finally arrived. I asked for a box as I had 4 hours of driving ahead, but they couldn't find a big enough one so I had to cram it in a small box. Then they appear with a big box - too late!I went up to the till to pay expecting a slight discount for their mistake - that's £16.50 waving a card machine at me.... I could have thrown the bl**** pizza at her, but I was hungry!'You expect me to pay full price'?? She replies "well you didn't say you were in a rush & we only took 10 minutes.... '.' 10 minutes, I wasn't in a rush when I arrived an hour ago...'. 'I got a sort of garbled whisper - ' have the pizza then'....Mistakes happy, but I didn't hear the word sorry, apologies or anything. It's as if the kitchen is a different business & they can't be held responsible for their actions.I was glad they didn't charge when I tried to eat it driving up the M5, the topping was dumped in the middle making the inner part hugely soggy & doughy, the outer bit was really burnt & the topping was really lacking in chicken.

Lovely lunch today in cosy and pretty surroundings, despite the torrential rain - will definitely be back to try out the lovely outside seating area on a warmer /sunnier day. Pizzas were delicious and staff were very friendly. Thank you so much ?
