Top 5 National fish and chip awards for 2024 brought us here. Wonderful location with super bay views. Friendly and engaging crew. Proper cloth napkins; not those ridiculous paper napkins which fall apart as soon as you use them. Up market venue. Standard size fish and chips priced at £20.95 seemed a bit steep. We chose the lighter size at £14.95 and very pleased we did, as the still generous portions were more than enough unless you have the appetite of a Maori rugby player. The only disappointment is the generic choice of cod/haddock/hake without a "catch of the day." Otherwise 5 star.????

Pier Point had the most amazing fish and chips! The service was professional with limited wait time. The atmosphere was nice and warm even though it was cold and raining outside. I definitely recommend!

Very expensive for an average fish and chips £22 + drinks. Forced to eat outside on boxing day because dogs are not welcome and not allowed to move the tables so our group of 8 people were separated on different tables. The restaurant was too tight to turn on the heating both inside and outside. In conclusion the only reason why we decided to eat there was because it was late and the other places were full.As to your response, it must have been your accommodating staff's day off. We did ask to move the tables and turn on the heating but apparently it wasn't possible because of company policy.

Chips and sausage (takeaway). Not greasy at all and cooked fresh. Didn't taste like it had been sat there. Friendly staff. Unfortunately no savaloys here! There is also gluten free option too. 5/5 from me.

It's taken me since August to rate and review this restaurant. My adult kids and I booked this place for our first night staying here.I give it 3 stars as they had an enjoyable meal.I on the other hand am gluten and dairy free.I was completely assured and my order was taken. The service though good left me feeling slightly nervous. When the food came it was as though my daughter's plate and mine had been confused. Not a great start if you're gluten free.I was assured by the waitress that she could tell it was gluten free. I looked at her and said are you sure? She went back and checked and said yes this is the right plate. So I ate away and after about 3 bites wondered if she was still wrong.Long story short. I suffered that night and the next day. Please please please. If it's fried in the same oil and simply there isn't a space to avoid cross contamination DO NOT advertise as gf available. It's a lie.Dietary restrictions: Not gluten free

What an amazing evening we had! We came here with no prior booking, for 8 people and they managed to squeeze two tables together with no trouble and the service was impeccable. As a table of 8 we were splitting the bill three ways and even that process alone was handled so well and made so much more simpler by the waiting staff and the very beginning.Majority of our table had the special that night which was the fish pie, this was unforgettable. The added bonus was the side of chips we all ordered which turned out to be chip shop chips from their own takeaway, we didn’t even click and they went together like fish and chips (haha)The service and food was second to none, it was even good enough to know that we will be booking again next year pre pantomime and will make it our new traditional dinner stop every year for the panto!Thank you to all the staff, it was amazing. Our night was made even better starting off with your great food and service

It was lovely to be greeted by a friendly face at the door have the door opened on both the way in and way out. Our servers were Nigel and Bex, they did a splendid job of providing a lovely afternoon for us, I have been visiting torquay for many years and this was the first time that I have been into this restaurant, but I wish that it had been sooner! The food was out of this world. The presentation of the dishes and the taste! Wow...... you can really see why its won lots of awards. The decor of the establishment was very well in check with the seafront, but not overly done so that it didnt look like the inside of a sailors cabin. I thought it was very posh.Prices were right for the quality.I went in the weekday so I am unable to provide an doesn't review of the atmosphere as this was a quiet time, I believe though that generally this is a very busy restaurant by the way that we have been treated. I imagine there are alot of repeat customers. Thank you.

Went to Pier Point today where my friend and I enjoyed the best chips tasted for a while. The curry sauce was nice & spicy too. Our waitress, Bex, was very customer focused and was happy to advise on food options. Bex was really courteous, patient and helpful and it was lovely to be served by someone with a smile on their face. No bah humbug here! The ambience was nice and the setting a delight. We will definitely be returning as Pier Point never disappoints.

I have read the reviews, both good and bad and I'm not entirely sure if the bad reviews even went to the same place! We were a table of 8, who were looking for some food to eat pre-pantomime, and we were that annoying family who decided to just see what we fancied on the night rather than book, and the staff were amazing for us being a large walk in! That already was more than appreciated! The staff were friendly, attentive, professional, informative and a joy to speak to, nothing was too much trouble and they even simplified everything when we informed them of our bill being split three ways, they nipped that in the bud at the very beginning too make it easy for both us and them, which was a great help! Majority of our table ordered the Special which that night was the Fish Pie, again we were kindly informed that the pies are cooked to order and are around half an hour, it was not a problem whatsoever and still lovely to be told, as the staff were keen to make sure we did not miss the pantomime. The toilets were unisex and very nice and well kept. The food arrived in good time and piping hot. We ordered sides of chips with most of our meals, and we could have probably ordered half the amount, it was fantastic. The fish pie teamed with their very own chip shop chips was an absolute game changer and went down very well indeed. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire evening from start to finish and even discussed having this location as our usual pre panto dinner every year now! It was perfect, please also bear in mind, we were both a mixture of grockles and locals in our party, and everyone enjoyed it. Me and my husband being the locals even said we would be happy to return on one of our rare date nights !

The fish and chips takeaway from here was excellent. Saw that it’d had got in top 10 UK wide, so had high expectations but it didnt let down. Crispy batter, great chips. Lots of benches for eating it on sea front, would highly recommend!

We had the light bite Fish & chips yesterday lunchtime. The fish & chips are definitely the best we have tasted along with the home made mushy peas. We ate inside the restaurant, the decor is very tastefully done with an upmarket feel. All the staff were attentive and courteous. The food was well worthy of all their

Fabulous place to eat. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and plentiful and the views overlooking the sea were stunning. They also collect money for a local hospice by inviting you to order a portion of invisible chips. You order no pay for the chips but they don’t pear on your table.
