If you are American, don't come here thinking it will be like home. They serve a variety of food options with about 5 versions of their Mexican.
My husband is a serious Enchilada fan and he was very happy with his choice. I had the steak Fajitas and they were great.
We were given a time limit to eat as we didn't have a reservation.

The Elephant Restaurant

I liked it here. The room is bright and airy, being nicely furnished and decorated. The staff are both pleasant and efficient. I thought the food had some unusual combinations. These were skillfully combined to provide a super tasty meal. After all you go to a high end restaurant to experience something different and The Elephant delivered for me. I had a most enjoyable lunch with a relaxed vibe. I also think it's really good value for money.

TURKISH KEBAB & PIZZA

My boyfriend went here for lunch having never tried a kebab before. He loved the food so much that we went together a couple days after so that I could try it too.

I'm so glad he tried something new as the Chicken Kebabs we got together were incredible and we will both certainly be going back soon. The owners really are very lovely and the food is incredibly well priced especially for how much you get. This is the best takeaway I've had for a very long time.

The Willow Tree

Really enjoyed visiting this place. We booked a table and let them know ahead of time that we needed somewhere quiet for our daughter who has autism. They found out a lovely table right out of the way and then they went out of their way to let us know another group would be letting off poppers and asked if that was ok. Its actually been a long while since we have been out because it is often too overwhelming for my daughter but our experience today made me want to try and do these things more often. The food was lovely the staff were kind and not in your face. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

MEAT59 Torquay

An interesting burger place that is simple and which offers ab unusual range of meals. Not much seating available so wise to book and if you fancy your burgers a little different this is the place to go. For us burgers were a little too fancy which resulted in one losing the taste of meat.

Service was good, but if you’re looking for something a little more comfy and luxurious then this is the place to be

Amici

What a wonderful place to dine out in while visiting Torquay. The food was excellent and very authentic, a true taste of Italy. The staff were also wonderful, very welcoming, friendly, attentive and extremely professional. Special thanks go to Jose (who is a very nice Spanish man with a great sense of humour and who looked after us so well during our visit) and to Phoebe (who is also very nice and so helpful, she put a bit of charge back in a completely flat phone battery for my Partner's Daughter after it had run out after a long journey down from London). I revisited again today for another excellent Cortado Coffee (to take away this time) which was made by Phoebe (she said it was called a Macchiato because I was in an Italian restaurant and not a Spanish one... thank you for the correction, the coffee was delicious, whatever you want to call it lol). I also had the pleasure of meeting and chatting to Adam (who I believe is the front of house) who was also very friendly and welcoming. Thank you to everyone at Amici, you are all wonderful and we look forward to visiting you again very soon.

JUNJAOW THAI Restaurant

Wonderful authentic Thai food. Open kitchen, friendly and quick service, most delicious Thai we’ve had in years as the tofu options were so fresh, and the little flavoured shots with our desserts were amazing. Thankyou, we will come again!!

The Dock

Really great food! Amazing burger, great staff, highly recommend! Just a bit sad about how Devon Rock/Cove/ Hunts Cider has now recently gone in place of non-local beers you find anywhere in the UK as we like supporting local businesses and enjoying the local drinks, but the drink selection is still good! Will be back many, many more times! 5* all round

Smokey Joe's

Rock Garden Cafe Bar

Could not fault the food or the service. Nice little touches for the children, like a Christmas present and decorate a gingerbread man. Staff were attentive and very friendly. The food was beautiful. We have already booked to come back next year.

Yates - Torquay

Went in on new year's day and then place was busy saw there was only 1 barmaid working and thought oh no would be waiting for ages. However the barmaid was superb and was serving 2-3 people at a time and was really positive and provided excellent customer service

The Kent's

I had a lovely meal at The Kents, as always! The Kents, has a delightful ambiance. The decor is to a high standard. It is most definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend the Chocolate, Stout Cake, with Cherries.

Pizzas 2 GO

Good quality food at a decent price, fed 5 adults and a toddler for £55 delivered. Came quickly with all the condiments everything we ordered had special requests and all were spot on. Definitely be ordering again soon

The Orange Tree Restaurant

The food is delicious, very nicely presented and tasted soooo good.
All the staff were attentively perfect and very warm and friendly.
Would recommend to all as a place to enjoy great food in comfortable surroundings.

The Divers Arms

This was our first visit here and we are very happy with our experience, Josh was friendly, attentive, polite and informative, the food arrived in good time and was hot and delicious with a varied menu to accommodate any pallete and very reasonably priced, the restaurant was clean and fresh, for us the location was perfect just a 10 minute walk away

Bull & Bush

We have been to this pub many times. Bonnie is so welcoming and friendly. Rich is a brilliant chef. We've never had a bad meal. Food and plates are all piping hot. Nice variety on the menu. They both take great pride in making this a family friendly pub. We enjoy going here as a large family with a mixture of all ages in our group. From young children to Grandparents. This pub has a lovely atmosphere.

Rockfish - Torquay

Me and my husband went here two days a row on our honeymoon, we couldn’t get enough! The food was just perfect: beautifully cooked in simple dishes to show off the natural qualities of each type of fish, always paired with delicious house made sauces and sides. Even classics like fish and chips were elevated, and seemed to just melt in the mouth. \n\nBoth days we were waited on by Riley, who was charming, welcoming and very helpful (and could memorise the name, description and price of about 8 daily specials a day which we thought was super impressive!). We also had lovely service from Calla, who made a table for us especially for our honeymoon with some lovely art, and was very sweet in wishing us congratulations.

Happy Chef

What an experience out of the best Chinese takeaway in Torbay. The service was excellent with a kind young man at the counter, and food was quick to be served and was hot. The food was plentiful, with an explosion of flavours dancing on my tastebuds, making my grin widen with every bite. Portion sizes were perfect, with enough to enjoy and some extra to save. Will be put in my books as an excellent Chinese takeaway, although nothing can be perfect. 非常好 ❤️.

Prezzo Italian Restaurant Torquay

We went early this evening. Katrina was on her own and was semi busy. She was excellent I’m of a certain age and was flushed and so hot. She brought me her mini fan. She was attentive and best service had in a long time. Good food too and best tiramisu ever

Bay Spice Tandoori

We ordered 4 meals for takeaway, food arrived near time, nice and hot as well. However we found that we had mid-ordered, forgot the rice. Phoned Bay Spice, explained the situation, and the owner said no problem, be with you in 20 minutes. Would you believe it, they did!! The food was delicious, the delivery guys were polite cheerful and friendly. The service up and beyond the threshold we expected and the cost was very reasonable considering the amount and quality that we were delivered. Thank you Bay Spice, you have made four customers for life

HONG KITCHEN Chinese Takeaway

Delicious and hot food, generous portion sizes and very friendly staff. I asked for extra spicy and they called to double check. They made it how I wanted it despite it being 22:30 on a weekday. Thank you! ?️ ?

Beacon Quay Torquay

Visited whilst on holiday in Devon, usual Harvester Fayre, salad bar usually good quality, meats and meals usual good quality.\n\nNothing to set the world on fire but You know what your getting in a Harvester and you leave with a full Belly at a reasonable cost, especially if you download the app there is regularly deals to be had. \n\nLocation of this particular restaurant was very nice, with the harbour just outside and staff friendly and attentive. \n\nCan’t really ask for more.

Green Chillies

Best Indian I’ve even had seriously the tandoori mixed grill was amazing and the tandoori butter chicken amazing too finally found a decent Indian even the wife loved it and she hates Indian takeaways usually. Thank you

Hands down the best pizzas ever. Pappa johns nah never heard of them pappas in torre is where the party’s at and the chilli con carne jacket potato is really good and I dont like mars bars but their battered mars bars are banging and don’t get discouraged with how the look cause they’re 10/10

Old Vienna Restaurant

Absolutely stunning meal from Werner and the team. Everything was top quality, the lobster ? bisque was very luxurious, the duck ? tasted amazing and the biggest surprise was the chestnut ? ice cream which was divine ?. It gets a big thumbs up from Rigsbys Seasonal Foods ????‍??

No 7 Fish Bistro & Wine Bar

We had our 33rd wed anniversary dinner here, just the two of us, the service is exceptional, the food , if you like fish, look no further, it was fantastic, i had Hake my wife had monkfish, we also had a muscle scallop starter , and a squids starter, the cheese board and a brandy snap ice cream, we have eaten in many many places from London to Scotland and abroad, this place was outstanding, we are moving to the area and will be regulars, justto add nxt door has a michelin star, i think the michelin people missed a trick by not visiting no7, which of course in my opinion just be called No1, or as i told Paul the Orca , a big thank you to all the staff, a real old school resturant experience, all happy smiley people , oh yer no phones what a bonus.

Chelston Manor

I bloody love this place, it's my local and I'm very happy about that. The service and the food is always great, the people that run it are lovely. Has a good beer garden,plenty of room inside and out and parking. Chelston is a great area of Torquay, close to the sea front and Cockington and this pub is the best in the area by a mile. Good for a quick drink, lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed.

The Offshore Bar and Restaurant

This restaurant serves high quality locally caught fish in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Indoor seating is limited so I am glad we made a reservation The accompanying white wine was excellent. Service from the young staff was prompt and helpful I enjoyed the crab salad and my partner had scallops.

Yum Sing

Beautiful building with a charming décor. Our waitresses were wonderful. They were very warm and friendly, full of recommendations and advice on what dishes to pick. Good portion sizes and you can take home leftovers. They even let us stay late after closing time! And they serve a beautiful Belvedere Lychee Martini, very smooth x

Royal Hotel and Carvery

Once again had a delicious carvery. I had pork, it’s so tasty. Lots of lovely vegetables and great roast potatoes. The gravy is also very good. Staff are always pleasant and helpful and the views are stunning. Would definitely recommend.

Bread & Butter

Been getting lunch from them every Friday. Amazing quality food at really good prices. The staff are so friendly. 10/10 service and 10/10 food. Can't recommend then enough. Try the belly buster if your really hungry haha

Greggs

Greggs is a chain, so churns out mass produced food for the masses! It's a convenient place to stop off, whilst fuelling the car or van. The baguettes are good, as are the doughnuts for a treat. Not good for you, but still tasty! The staff are always friendly and cheerful, despite relentless work!

Parking: At busy times, it can be tricky to park, use Google maps app to avoid the busiest times!

Chelston Grill

I've just ordered a Donor kebab and a large separate salad and i have to say it's easily the best that i've ever had.. Plus the delivery was super quick. Well done folks and thank you very much.

Jessie was the perfect host, so helpful -could not do enough for us. We were a big group and all the food was still prompt and delicious, between our group we tried most of the menu and were all really enjoyed it! If you're looking for a friendly intimate place with delicious food - this is the place. We'll definitely be back again - thank you Jessie ?

The staff was absolutely wonderful. It was my first time at Subway, and they were very helpful and patient. The food was delicious and tasted fresh. Everything was quite clean as well. Was a very pleasant experience.

Recently I have visited torquay with the family we wanted to have Chinese food for the dinner so we decided to have a takeaway rather than going to a restaurant I found this takeaway online and ordered 2x king prawns chili in black beans sauce with egg fried rice spicy and 2x king prawns chowmain , the chili king prawns was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in torquay it was very tasty fresh ingredients as I am writing this review my mouth is watering the fried rice and king prawns chowmin was lovely . The place is nice and clean and service is excellent very fast . I would recommend to tray this takeway it is really good and if you like spicy food then try this dish chili black bean sauce you will love it.

Shiphay Chippy

Been here twice in as many weeks. Ordered cod and chips along with sides, the cod was beautiful white flakes with brilliant light crispy batter and the chips were superbly cooked nice and crispy with an amazing flavor. The service was very polite and professional . My new go to chippy top marks folks see you again soon .

Papa Johns Pizza

I placed an order with them and unfortunately they didn’t have any delivery drivers so I never received my order (I fully understand things happen and somestuff is generally out of their control) however I have spoken back and fourth between different members of staff and they have been extremely helpful with trying to get me my refund through just eat unfortunately I still haven’t received it (and it’s been over a week) yet they are still going above and beyond to get the refund for me and have even offered me a free pizza, side and drinks while we wait for our refund which was genuinely so nice. they have been nothing but helpful so thank you

Crusoes Fish Bar

New to the area, found Crusoe's online and incidentally ordered online for convenience. Excellent service, very efficient on a busy service night, fish was cooked perfectly and chips were nice and crisp. Very happy.

Oriental Touch

Excellent value for money - especially with how expensive everything is getting! This place is easily the first choice Chinese food for the family. Would recommend in after 7pm in the evening if you’d like to avoid rush hours (it’s a rather popular restaurant).

The Green Ginger - JD Wetherspoon

First time in a Spoons for 15 years so no recent comparisons. Went for a late lunch for three the day after Boxing Day. 90% full and very busy. Staff not fully keeping up, we deep cleaned our own table to save time, picking up some grime that would have collected over months.

Ordering is entirely online via QR code and table number. The web based ordering was a bit of a faff if you're unfamiliar, with its disappearing shopping basket. Great atmosphere at this Torquay venue, everyone enjoying themselves and some folks happily drinking on the terrace in December!

On paying by Apple Pay, the drinks seemed to appear within one minute and food - 3 Christmas specials - just minutes after that.

Haven't encountered anything so efficient since trips abroad. And £45 for 3 mains and a pint each for 3 was a Christmas miracle in itself. Food properly hot and quality good at the price point. Service charge not solicited, so was happy to tip at the bar on leaving and hope it was put in the shared box.

Chandlers Chippy

The food is always excellent, very inexpensive for the portion size. The counter staff work really hard to provide exceptional customer service. We make a trip to Chandler's everytime we visit Torquay.

Domino's Pizza - Torquay

Me and my partner accidently ordered from the wrong store. The team at st marychurch are honestly fantastic and helped solve the issue! The driver was also super friendly and polite!

Definitely better than the other two subways…
Might not be the most ideal location but
At least these guys here actually know customer service and they’re willing to do what they can.
