Lovely Sunday lunch here , couldn't have asked for more. Great service and food. The pub is obviously very old and has an amazing interior. Tables are really well spaced , real fire and dog friendly. Loved it and prices are very fair. Highly recommended.

Absolutely superb meal at the Church House Inn last night, beautifully cooked and well presented food, one of the best "Pub" meals we have had, which was also excellent value. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, there is a lovely ambiance, helped by the log burning stove in this wonderfully historic building, set in a beautiful location. Well worth a visit.

A little gem deserving of all the praise. Charming candle lit 13th c. inn with a team that really care about offering a warm welcome. The food was a cut above normal pub grub...menu full of options, arrives promptly and was great quality cooking. Obviously very popular with the locals, who were equally welcoming.

Had a lovely welcome and super Sunday lunch here on 19/2/23. We hadn't pre-booked but would recommend doing so. My father was born a few doors away at Rose Cottage.

Gorgeous, cosy, friendly, great food. I phoned and left a voicemail to book a last minute table here and the landlord rang back to confirm the booking and let me know how to safely get to the pub, and park! Loved that considering my need for planning! Arrived and walked in to the most beautiful gorgeous rustic village pub greeted by a friendly smile from the landlady. Very welcoming pub. The pub was nicely busy for a quiet January evening with the majority of tables taken up by friends, locals, families and also couples eating and drinking. The atmosphere was lovely… Two log burners were alight which kept it nice and cosy! We were served drinks and shown to our reserved table within 2 minutes of arriving. The food… just delicious!! I was over the moon to see the vegan options, of which I couldn’t choose between the peanut curry or mushroom stroganoff, I went with the latter and I wasn’t disappointed. Home cooked and flavoursome. Good sized portions, and the omnivores in the group were very pleased with their Beef Ragu, Salmon and also Pork steak! Followed by desserts .,, including a chocolate and cherry vegan brownie! I had a feeling this place was going to be a gem as I read the reviews, prior to booking… so I wasn’t disappointed! I highly recommend to anybody looking for some delicious home cooked food in the South Hams within the setting of a gorgeous 13th century inn!

This is a charming, lovely old historic pub with great food and beers and a warm welcome. (Just don't follow your Satnav to get there, as it will send you through a nerve-wrackingly narrow gap between the inn and an old stone wall. There are two other ways in). Highly recommended! A really wonderful place.

We went back after being invited by friends who live locally. Was impressed the first time and was nice to go back. Food is really good and the owner makes some time to speak to you which is lovely. Can't wait to see them again and what a traditional cosy pub with good food. Good service what more could you want.
