Rumour Kitchen & Bar
30 High St, TotnesOne of our favourite places to go once in a while. It's always a very popular venue in Totnes. It can get quite cozy at very busy times. Best to probably book a table in advance if possible as it is popular.

Waterside Bistro in Devon
The Plains, TotnesOn Monday 18th March 2024 Three of us had an excellent meal in very relaxed circumstances, where we could hear each other speak, (This was important as one of us was hard of hearing). We were also very impressed with the service I think the waiter was called Louis. I recommend this place and will go there

Morrisons Cafe
Coronation Rd, TotnesOne of my favourite things about this branch of Morrisons is the large car park, all on one level & I feel safe (as much as anyone can be!) leaving my sports motorcycle parked in allocated bays for Motorcycles near the entrance. Large deli, good bakery, fresh fish & plenty of meat for us carnivores..

The White Hart Bar and Restaurant
Dartington Hall, TotnesA really good vegetarian Sunday lunch. Popped in with some friends and were warmly welcomed with quick service and quick food. Everyone enjoyed their meals and they were more than willing to help with gluten free options (most of the roast was already gluten free). We were also allowed to bring the dog in so bonus.

Silver Grill
2 Mill Ln, TotnesI first used this Chip Shop over 40 years ago, whilst on holiday in Devon. I visited again last night just before closing as I was by passing through. What an absolute treat, just as I remembered. Beautiful Fish & Chips. Really impressed that so close to closing they made them fresh up. The two girls working behind the counter were charmingly polite and professional. The Cod was thick and delicious. I will be planning more trips in this direction just for the Fish & Chips.

The Fortescue Arms
Greenhill, East Allington, TotnesWe had a large family gathering for special birthday at The Fortescue Arms on Saturday night and we have to say, we were absolutely wowed. The food was lovely, the pre-order we were asked to provide meant service was impeccable and it was fantastic value for money. We loved that our party was in a room so we didn't feel like we were interrupting any other patrons. However, what really made the night so fantastic was the service we received. Everyone we encountered were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. None of us would hesitate to recommend you to anyone visiting the area - thank you so much for your attentiveness and welcome.

Tally Ho
Littlehempston, TotnesOn recommendation, we visited this utterly charming pub between Christmas and New Year. You are met by a very warm atmosphere not only because of the two roaring log burners but also the friendly landlord and the numerous locals, in for an early Friday night drink or meal. If you search out this 14th century gem, you must not leave without sampling something off the enticing menu. I can highly recommend the Pork and pear cassoulet. Delicious. And there were enough other delights on offer to guarantee a return visit at the earliest opportunity. Great Devon ales on draft and a friendly resident pub dog. There is truly nothing to not like about the Tally Ho.

King William IV
45 Fore St, TotnesWhat a gem. After walking out of two cafes that couldn't provide us with lunch because they've ran out of gluten-free bread or jacket potatoes, we saw the tasty looking menu outside and walked in. Greeted by a friendly bar man who provided a table, and we ended up having an absolutely delicious meal!! Really generous portions, and we didn't have to wait too long either. Best beef chilli I've eaten in a long time, and mother said it was the best kedgeree she's ever eaten. Very glad to stumble across this pub. Will be back when next in the area.
