The front of house team really know their stuff and make you feel welcome. Harrison and team are wizards. I cant recommend Gather enough.

Brockhills Barns, HarbertonfordJust Magical. First visit but not the last. I purchased some beautiful tree decorations. I can wait to see what home furnishings the seasons bring. Well worth the visit. Staff & coffee shop very welcoming.

Quality decorative items. I love this shop. I ordered these items previously in the sale but was then promoted to purchase the large wreath because there was an additional 10% extra off. Delivery was prompt it was almost next day delivery.

30 High St, TotnesI’ve eaten here a few times and it’s been brilliant every time. The food is great, and so is the atmosphere. We got massively let down by a restaurant tonight and didn’t think there was a chance of getting into Rumour at such short notice, but we were in luck.
As always the food was great but the staff were really amazing - accommodating, friendly and had a laugh too. Thanks for rescuing the evening and it was great to sit in a restaurant full of people with such a good energy - both staff and guests

The Plains, TotnesLovely restaurant set by the river in the charming town of Totnes, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was a little chaotic at times and seemed slightly unpolished, but the staff were friendly, kind, and responsive. The food was good overall. The beef burger was well-prepared and generously portioned, while the mussels were decent, though a bit heavy on the garlic for our taste. The drinks selection was excellent, with a great variety on offer. I particularly enjoyed the Blue Moon, a Belgian white beer.

Morrisons Cafe
Coronation Rd, TotnesPopped in with mum during a visit. Once shopping done we ordered a light breakfast and drinks. Once you work out the touch screen self service for your choice of food etc. Very pleasant enviromment with the food being cooked to order. Food was just right and of a good quality. Staff were very helpful and obliging.

Tuckenhay, TotnesWe went to the Maltsters for a family roast, the service was great and all the staff were very friendly and helpful, eventhough a very busy afternoon. The food was amazing, quality beef and pork, with plenty of veg to go around 7 of us. We felt the price was quite high, before we ate, but afterwards felt it was well worth it! Everyone left full and happy! A great experience.

The interior was significantly altered over fifty years ago, but it still retains a charming old world atmosphere. Good selection of beers and a good menu. Plenty of seating inside and in the secluded garden. Nice to have a chat with the friendly landlord, landlady and locals. Large car park.

The Fortescue Arms
Greenhill, East Allington, TotnesWe visited the The Fortescue Arms as it was close to our Airbnb and had such great reviews — and it absolutely lived up to them.
Although they were fully booked for dinner when we arrived, Ian was fantastic and kindly managed to squeeze us in while we enjoyed a few drinks. The food was definitely worth the wait. The lamb shank was especially delicious — beautifully cooked and full of flavour.
We would happily have returned again during our stay, but unfortunately ran out of time. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in South Hams.

The food available was a selection of English Style tapas which was very tasteful especially the mini shepherds pie. Please note this is a very cosy venue and Sunday dinner has to be booked well in advance. The venue is very historic and situated in a great location

St Peter's Quay, TotnesOur second visit here but under the new management since we last visited it well exceeded our expectations. Upon our we had a warm welcome from Oz who checked us in and briefed us on options. Our room No 5 was simply fabulous. Huge room with a bath in the bedroom. We did use it once and not only did it fill quickly it was lovely and hot. Bed and pillows perfect had great sleeps. Bathroom very large too. All tastefully decorated and furnished. Spotlessly clean. Biscuits and bottled water in the room daily. Breakfast was the best helped by the lovely smiling Jess. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Great asset to the team. Breakfast fantastic value as a resident as you could have whatever you wanted. Granola yoghurt honey particularly good as were the pancakes with crispy bacon. To be fair all the staff we encountered were the best. The only place I would stay and its location on the River Dart is unbeatable. Highly recommend.

Staverton, TotnesWe stayed here for the night and couldn't have been looked after better. We were meeting friends down the road and the gentleman front of house enabled us to check in early so we could drop our bags before going out for the day. When we came back later we enjoyed a drink in the bar, which still had a lovely vibrant atmosphere at 09:30 at night. The lovely barman then ensured we had plenty of water and ice in our room (we were a few wines in!). Breakfast the next day was delicious and plentiful. The rooms were simple, but very clean and had everything we needed for a nights stay in a country Devonshire pub.

WILD THYME, CHINA BLUE, Station Rd, TotnesMy husband and I visited shortly before the kitchen was due to close and it was busy but we were still able to find a table that was clear, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was honestly one of the best I've ever had. Yes, it is a little pricey but definitely a case of getting what you pay for. We will pay another visit here whenever we find ourselves in Totnes again!

Totnes Railway Station, Station Rd, TotnesI had to spend 10 days working at Totnes station and without a doubt the high light was the great food and friendly staff at the Signal cafe !

The lady who served us was absolutely exceptional her attention to detail, warmth, and genuine care made us feel so comfortable and truly looked after. She was incredibly empathetic and thoughtful, which made the whole visit feel very special.
We booked the Queen’s Tea, and it was wonderfully generous not only was everything delicious, but there was more than enough for us to take some home and enjoy later as well. Such a lovely touch!
It was a memorable experience, and we’ll definitely be returning soon next time with the rest of the family. Highly recommend

The Good Food Shop
A385, Shinner's Bridge, Dartington, TotnesWe love to stop at this quirky little shop on the way to Paignton Zoo. Tonight we bought vegetarian/ vegan curries to take home. Honestly, the best curries we've had, the lime pickle was amazing and clearly homemade with no chemicals or additives, the only downside to this place is it's an hour away from where we live otherwise we would be here all of the time. The bad reviews must be from Brits who want chicken breasts in ketchup or something.

The Cott Inn
Cott Ln, Dartington, TotnesThis is one of the most Charming and welcoming accomodations we have been spending time in our Family Holidays . We had huge problems with a breakdown of a Rental car in Dartmoor and the White team and especially the Owner , Mark did everything to help . Furthermore he connected to a private Rent a car and informed us about the fantastic Dartington Estate . There is also a very conveniant Green Cafe Next to this Estate which is super great .
