An excellent friendly and welcoming pub offering a good choice of food. My wife and I stopped in here more by accident looking for somewhere that was serving food on a rather wet & windy Monday evening in March in Mortehoe Devon and discovered this little gem. Really friendly good natured staff and with a full menu available and a good choice of drinks we were not disappointed. Will visit again when next in the area. Thank you.

Last day of the season. Came for a carvery, with the risk of no meat as we were a tad late. Found plenty to choose from, well presented and well tasty. For those of you wishing to partake, I highly recommend booking ahead. Other food on the regular menu is good, and they have a fine selection of ales (except on the last day of the season!).

Sunday carvery. Excellent amount of good food. Staffing issue on the day slightly let the pub down.

Nice carvery had on a busy wet Sunday out of season. The pub was packed and food was good. It was better than a toby carvery but as with all carvery’s some of the veg was colder than we would have liked. Staff were friendly but very busy (possibly short staffed )and therefore not as attentive as they could have been.Parking: Parking is a very short walk away in village car park . Pay and display.

Stopped for a pint and Sunday carvery, food was reasonable quality and price , being a carvery you could fill your plate if you so wished ..Dog friendly

We had a lovely pub meal on Saturday evening. It was busy but the service was friendly and efficient. Good selection of drinks and lovely pub food.

We have to this pub many times and decided to book a table for Sunday lunch at 2.30 pm. Having arrived at 2.30 pm I was concerned that another group at the bar had said they had booked a table to be told they could sit anywhere! Having gone to the bar for an another pint at 3.00 pm the carvery was closed and when I asked why I was told they had run out of vegetable and potatoes- but they could do some mash! Amateurs in charge of what could be a decent place. Won’t be back.

Drove to Mortehoe to see what was there. We saw this lovely pub and fancied a bite of lunch. I ordered a ham and mustard baguette and Mrs D chose the prawn cocktail. My baguette was delicious; lots of proper ham and plenty of mustard in a lovely fresh baguette. Mrs D's prawn cocktail was enormous and came on a bed of fresh lettuce. She couldn't manage it all so I had to help out. It was very tasty!

Very nice old pub that's barely changed in 50 years with nice kind staff and very good food even if it's slightly pricy for standard pub grub.

Quaint country pub in a lovely village, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Perfect place to rest up after a long hike. Would definitely visit again!Kid-friendliness: Nice friendly staff made it a comfortable environment for my 7 year old daughter

Me and my family whent were to watch the England women world cup Semi-final agents Spain at the ship aground. The Mach started at 11:00 but sadly the pub does not open to 12:00 so we had to wait around. The pub itself is clean and quiet with friendly staff. All we ordered was chips which were fresh and delicious would recommend.

Nice pub in the lovely village of Mortehoe. Nice place on a sunny day to watch the village life go by. Nice beers and friendly staff. Didn't sample the food but I know they were busy serving when we visited.

Visited a couple of times whilst we were in the area. Both times found the staff very friendly and accommodating and the food was great. Will definitely be visiting again.
