Located in the quiet village centre, just a minute’s drive (or 5 minute walk) off the main drag between Yelverton and Tavistock. Car park at rear, accessible before crossing the bridge next to the pub. Entrances at rear and front. Typical looking old-world village pub with outdoor seating and a few larger tables inside, so ideal for walkers, cyclists etc.First visit (pub in Yelverton gridlocked with cars so here we were).Staff kindly let us in early (chilly and wet weather) to keep warm but we strolled around the attractive village anyway. Sidenote: The other pub was shut, there’s a Spar and a chippy and the river looked splendid after the heavy rain. Community Christmas trees added some cheer.Back to the pub out of the rain: Quiet inside, no music, a few other customers, lower level area closed. Bit tired in the furnishings dept but historic building nonetheless. Toilets so-so. Friendly staff offered a tasting of the cider AND a bonus of the last glassful from the box (it was a Lilley’s still, 6.0% - v good)Beer offer was usual DoomJail so picked the still cider. I could imagine this as a proper beer-led establishment at some point. Probably not the footfall or demographic though. It’s the food that truly shone. Simple, non-pretentious and delicious. Sausage (meaty), mash (buttery), peas (loads) and a proper boat of hot gravy. Mate’s burger, chips and onion rings also well received and everything was cleared. Good portions all served hot and with a friendly smile. I’d be happy to have this as a local.Bravo. We’ll be back!Parking: Behind the pub

We visited as part of a group for a wake and found it to have great service and a welcoming atmosphere. Food was good with good choice of drinks at the bar. Teas and coffee were readily available too.It was evident there was a good menu available too. Thanks for the great service.

This was my first visit and I'm glad to say that village pubs thrive. The staff were excellent, the customers were lovely people. Good parking and realy good ale. Probably the best pub I've ever been in.

Had lunch here today after a great walk along the Tavistock Canal with our 4 dogs. My wife had a cottage pie and i had a chicken pie with chips. We were served by Tina and can honestly say we were both impressed not only by Tina's excellent customer skills but the food was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The plates and food were hot till the end of the meal something we always look for. We aim to return again shortly but can honestly say our whole experience at the London Inn was brilliant. WELL DONE STAFF....

Proper Devon village pub, with a famous chippy next door! The food looks amazing and the beer is excellent. When I've eaten there I'm sure this will change to 5 star!

Had a fantastic roast in the London Inn today, for Mother'sDay. Amazing roast beef at very reasonable price and a great pub with a brilliant atmosphere. What's not to like about the London Inn?

Love this place, great dirty fries although not a fan of the change in cheese. The nacho cheese ruined the dish, would have preferred the dirty fries without the nacho cheese.

A brilliant refuge from the Devon Mist on Plaister Down, if you can get down Jordan Lane without too much bother. If they did a veggie version of their amazing "huge" baguettes it would be 5 stars, no bother.
