I have stayed at the Plume of Feathers Bunkhouse several times now when hiking Dartmoor. The staff have always been amazing and provided a 1st class service. For many years I have hiked and camped all over the country and this bunkhouse and the facilities are among the best I've ever used. I am already planning my next trip and will be returning to this one soon.

Just had a fab short break staying at The Plume of Feathers, excellent service and felt really welcomed. Room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Food really tasty and ended up eating at the restaurant every night. We took our pooch with us and everything was supplied for her stay to be just as comfortable as ours, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return ?

Poorly maintained beer ruined the visit.

If you are cold or hot and thirsty this is the place to go on the moor.

Super cheap bunkhouse. Clean. Kitchen with hob, kettle, etc. No plugs in rooms. No sheets either so carry your sleeping bag.

Great place to have a pint and warm on a wet October day. Good choice of drinks from beers to spirits. Very friendly staff. The pub kitchen is closed until December due to major renovations so there was no food available, although prior to this the food was good. We normally stay at the campsite they have at the rear of the property but decided to stay at the bunkhouse that has just been renovated, very clean rooms with a nice communal basic kitchen with a seating area.

I like the refurbishment. So pleased that they have kept original features including the flagstone floor. Just popped in for a quick drink so don't know what the food is like. The staff very friendly. I understand that the renewed kitchen will be opening soon.
First visit today since reopening. Excellent local beer, comfy seats and a warm fire. Just what we needed after mountain biking on the Moor.

Stayed at the bunkhouse, have been coming to the pub for a couples of decades, it’s slowly gone downhill. New owners haven’t improved it. Bunkhouse is very cheap but still no PowerPoints in 2023?!!! Come on. Website said limited menu served lunch and dinner, on arrival told no food in the evening. One mattress protector had blood on it. Strange gathering of locals in the bar, not customers, just hanging out and having a chat with staff, strange atmosphere. Such a shame, won’t be back again I’m afraid.

Great beers, really well kept. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere with great music. Great start/finish point for a day out on the Moor.

Central pub, stopped for lunch after walking on the moor. Fantastic pint of Legend and a good baguette. Lunch options,, are wraps, sandwiches and jacket potatoes. Bar man was brilliant, very attentive. Dogs allowed! One downside it would have been great to order a side of chips, otherwise really good. There is parking to the rear of the pub.. We will be back.
