Smashing pub on the borders of Plymouth and Dartmoor. I had a nice pint of Summerskill's Scrum-Half Nectar amber. We ate here and the beef lasagne I had was top notch. Wife had cajun chicken burger and father-in-law, the hunter's chicken. Both of them raved about the chips!Dog friendly establishment and the landlord and barmaid made a right fuss of our cockapoo, Molly. This made us feel very welcome. We will be back.

Good location and food (the double cooked chips were incredible!) but the pub itself was really cold and the bar staff kept skipping songs/the phone the speakers were connected to kept cutting out. Shame!

We were part of a large group. Very friendly pub with good atmosphere. Everyone was served together and the food was hot. Excellent meal, plenty of food. Sweet was lovely. (Coffee was disappointing.)

Fabulous pre Christmas bingo evening event. Great fun, hosts very entertaining.
Food excellent, home made cakes are amazing. Staff friendly and helpful, tho service always kinda slow. Worth the wait tho!

The pub has fairly recently changed hands and the new Licensees, George and Laura have worked incredibly hard over the past few months to put it firmly on the map as a "go-to" destination for quality food, ales and wines. My wife and I both enjoyed a fantastic meal here last Saturday night. The food was amazingly good value and absolutely delicious. I had proper home-made tomato soup with fresh farmhouse bread and my wife prawn cocktail to start. This was followed by an individual Beef & Ale pie for me and a very large portion of amazing Fish Chowder which included FOUR huge crevettes for her (£12.95!!!). Add a pint of (excellent) Jail Ale, large glass of Sauvignon and a full bottle of South African Shiraz and an excellent evening was had in a lovely warm, village pub atmosphere, backed up by excellent service from mine host, Laura and new chef Darren. Come and see for yourself, but if you want Sunday Lunch make sure to book!!
