ol' man

Not your average restaurant, not too big, food was well above anything i've had at your usual restaurant and not that more expensive,i paid just over a hundred for 2 starters,2 mains and a 30quid bottle of wine and it was well worth it,nice area too, portion sizes were just right and there no children messing up the atmosphere so it's a nice break, just a lovely chilled out good quality evening for grown ups, plus the waitresses didn't hassle us every 10 minutes, excellent all round and i recommend any parents take an evening out there and unwind,we'll be going back soon(!)

A delicious meal, great service, friendly atmosphere. Acoustics a bit challenging for someone wearing hearing aids but it was busy.Dietary restrictions: I'm gluten free and plenty to choose from.

Visited for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The service was spot on, delightful vibrant decor. Opted for the prix fixe menu at £25 for 3 courses. Great food, simple, but fresh local ingredients cooked to perfection. Great value as well.Love their shop opposite as well.

Three of us went to this restaurant because it was recommended to us. The main course which was supposed to contain cod costing £24 was tasty but it was more like a starter consisting of a lettuce leaf, a dollop of mayonnaise and a moderate number of chickpeas. We could not see any pieces of fish.I do not mind paying £24 but I would expect something more than a starter!

Enjoyed a two course lunch, delicious and beautifully presented.Vegetarian options: The Prix Fixe menu was a choice of vegetarian or fish; starter also vegetarian. So I was very happy.

This was my first visit to Brassica Restaurant and after all the recommendations that I had heard I did expect something special. The service was attentive and cannot be faulted. We had dietary restrictions in our party, a Coeliac and a Vegan. The menu choice was interesting but limited. The reality when the food was brought was a disappointment, whilst it was nicely presented it did little to justify the high prices that are charged for the main dishes. Describing a dish as 'Organic Pork Shoulder' is misleading... This would be better described as 'Thin slices of Organic Shoulder served cold with with tonnato and cornichions.'Whilst the Steak Eaters were well served with a very nice Organic Angus Steak and The Vegan was served with a Violet Aubergine Caponata, though good, the general feeling was 'Underwhelmed'.The Vegetable sides at £10 per shot were quite literally a small side plate with a pauper's portion, not sufficient to 'share' at the table. If you have deep pockets and are prepared to accept pretty standard but adequate fare then this may be the place for you.Perhaps a rethink on side vegetables and menu is in order.

Very high quality cooking in a family owned Dorset restaurant. Presentation of the food and the service were excellent.
