Restaurants in Beaminster
The Admiral Hood
Mosterton, BeaminsterWent for Sunday dinner - such great attentive service, great prices. Had dessert as well, they were very great here. I called up in advance to check if they were still serving roasts - they told me to mention my order as the kitchen was closing - but they would make sure my order and table were ready for when I arrived. 10/10 service

Hare & Hounds Inn
Slape Hill, Waytown, BridportWe found this gem of a pub while camping in the area. We booked in advance easily by email. We were made to feel very welcome and the homemade food and drinks were delicious. So much so, we returned 2 nights later and it not only was it another excellent experience, they gave us the same table, making us feel like real regulars. The beer garden is lovely too with beautiful views and there is parking if needed. If I am ever in the area, I will pop in to see Bob and the team! (We were there for a Friday evening meal and Sunday roast/whole afternoon).

The Stableyard Restaurant
Redlands Ln, Broadwindsor, BeaminsterWe went back again for Sunday lunch, Once again an outstanding Sunday Lunch, very generous portions with a large chicken breast for the roast chicken and lots of tender beef for the beef option, also had a good range of veg, inc cauliflower cheese. Gravy was really good although even with an extra jug it was still not enough. Still one of the best Roasts to date.
Excellent selection of cakes, also great breakfast menu and one of the best Sunday lunches I've had for some time. Highly recommended.

Winyards Gap Inn
Chedington, BeaminsterHad lunch a week or so ago. Really very good. Menu has a good range of dishes with some flavour combinations we hadn't had before. Most enjoyable. You have to try the Halloumi Fries starter, delicious, and my steak was as good as I've had anywhere, perfectly cooked. We'll be going back to sample the rest of the menu.

Tangerine Cafe
2 North St, BeaminsterGreat tasty late afternoon breakfast and toasted scones. Friendly service and ambience. The cafe is a family run business and is located off the main square in Beauminster so could easily be missed. It was a Monday and most of the cafes were closed and the few that were open had only cold food so it was great to find somewhere serving warm food. Look for the orange sign on the square or outside the cafe. The cafe has artwork and crafts on display as well as books and is light and bright.

The Red Lion
14 The Square, BeaminsterWe stayed at an Airbnb accommodation above the antique shop on the square at Beaminster, where there were several eateries, and we chose The Red Lion, because of its walled garden, and we were not disappointed. We both chose a local beer recommend by the Landlord, who was an excellent host. I choose the rump steak, and my wife selected the honey salmon, both were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. There was an onsite art gallery in the skittle alley, which we had a look round and purchased a piece. Will give the place a thumbs up, and well worth popping into!

Brassica Restaurant
4 The Square, BeaminsterOur first ever visit to this little town. We visited friends in Evershot and their daughter recommended this place. We went lunchtime, fairly quiet on a cold, damp day and it was very slightly chilly inside too. But the service was friendly and efficient, the menu interesting and the food outstanding. Our friends enjoyed the hake and my wife and I both had the scrumptious venison, served with cavalo nero, roast onions and potatoes. The venison was perhaps the best we've ever had.

The Coach House café
The Coach House café, Mapperton, BeaminsterNice little cafe, cosy feel. Food nice but very pricey.
The check in area being next to the food ordering area is awkward especially when busy with queues, feels a bit disjointed.

The Beaminster Brasserie
3 Prout Hill, BeaminsterGreat central spot for travels to many other attractions in the area. Generous room, very clean. All interactions with staff members very positive & helpful. We had dinner on the Tuesday evening was an outstanding feature of our stay, best food we'd had in ages, the arancini was the best I've had anywhere, Lamb and sea bass cooked to perfection. The restaurant doesn't open for food in the evenings on Wednesday but we enjoyed the Mexican van that offered food on site, very fresh tasting, something different. Would definitely recommend to others in this charming part of the country.

Amei ( Peking and Malaysian Take-away)
5 Prout Hill, BeaminsterI go here often for my chinese. Best chinese i have ever had and i love my chinese and have been to countless places. Great food. Great service and good prices. Was a bit gutted that it is minimum £20 on card as my order is normally about £19 but that being said i can see why they do it as they get charged per transaction and there is a free cash machine in the co op up the road so its easy to phone the order and get cash on the way.
