I went to this pub with my wife and neighbors for a christmas lunch i selected the roast beef.Bad mistake firstly the beef was overcooked and the roast potatoes were hard as bike saddles. The rest of the veg looked nice.I tried the beef and gave up and left the place.also my wife elected to have the veg option, probably very wise.I would suggest the Admiral Hood in Mosterton so book up first. You will enjoy the food here

We have been lucky to have been able to visit Beaminster at least once a year for past 6 years. When here, our favourite "watering hole" is The Greyhound.Food is homemade...good and substantial and we believe kitchen uses local ingredients when possible.I'm a lager drinker and this is served well...and understand beer drinkers enjoy the choice of ales.Landlord and staff are attentive providing good service in a simple, rustic country pub.No intrusive music or TV... simply old fashioned conversation.Dogs are made welcome, as are tourists...it is well worth a visit.

Excellent menu gf marked and plenty of choice. Quite busy lots of locals, Dog friendly. Not a wetherspoons type pub, typical old country town pub. Dogs very welcome. Background music.

Beautiful little pub in a rural village, everything about it is relaxed and good-natured. The staff are friendly and accommodating and there is a wide selection of Beer, Cider, Spirits, Wine, and food.Parking: Directly in front of the pub is a mid-size car park for an establishment this size with about 20 cars of space, for the amount of people that visit its perfect.

What a great welcoming traditional village pub. We were lucky enough to be staying in Beaminster and wondered into this pub as it looked busy and had a sign saying “Dogs Welcome”. Well it’s not just the dogs that were welcomed, we all were!!! Lovely chatty staff and regulars. A lovely couple even bought our dogs a pup cake each. We felt so welcomed we went back for a drink another night and a meal and drinks another. The food was great quality, a great choice (even for me as a Coeliac) and very reasonably priced. Should we visit the area again we will definitely pop in and recommend others do too.
