It's not bad and it's not good. Its okay. We ordered the butter chicken, and it was the strangest butter panner I have had with coconut throughout instead of the cashew, tomatoes and fenugreek base. Sides were ok, however the samosas, in my mind, were store bought fillet and not the real deal short crust.Service was great. I have to say.

Just looking for somewhere to eat on Thursday night. Had walked past Simla earlier and it was empty, as it was when we walked down later. Thought this can't be good, but hey went in and what a surprise, the food was absolutely delicious, I could have happily licked my plate. The staff are excellent as well, very polite and helpful, first class.Totally recommend Simla - one of the best curries I have had the pleasure to devour!

Food was sensational but delivery time was awful! We ordered at 7pm, quoted 8:40pm delivery but it arrived at 9:25pm. The food was honestly one of the best Indians I've had, so my advice, don't order delivery go and collect!

The food is always top notch here. Fresh, tasty and a really varied menu. The staff here are really accommodating if you have dietary requirements or any preferences. they really couldn't do enough for you. Highly recommend the saag paneer, sag King prawn and the chicken/lamb zafrani. We love eating in or having a take away so thank you to Abs and all the team!!

Very disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. We booked the evening before and were informed of the no alcohol policy which was fine, however we were surprised to be given a menu which included alcoholic beverages. The place feels basic and lacks the normal welcoming atmosphere of an Indian restaurant. It feels more like a takeaway with tables than a restaurant. Clearly their priority is take away business as we waited over an hour for our food. The order itself wasn’t taken until long after we’d finished our poppadoms. We weren’t offered a drink for ages, then were offered poppadoms. The dips which came with were of very poor standard, random pots dumped on a plate and no flavour to any of them. We had to ask for napkins, as did other customers. Surely this is a basic requirement in a restaurant! One waiter didn’t seem to have a clue what he was doing, the other was trying hard and was pleasant, but ineffective. When our food finally arrived, it was disappointing to say the least. The sag aloo was dry and the spinach tasted bitter. The curry dishes had no depth of flavour, just lots of chilli. The naan was nice though. The plates were scolding hot and handed without warning, whereas the serving dishes were stone cold, so the food got cold quickly. When we eventually finished our meal, we weren’t even offered coffee or desert making us feel like we were just a burden. We went to pay with our Amex card as they displayed a sign in the window stating they accept American Express, but they wouldn’t take it. I noticed lots of towels in the front window and I’m sure as we drove past the following day, there seemed to be buckets in the window. I don’t think I’ve ever seen salt and pepper on tables in an Indian restaurant before, this says a lot about the lack of flavour in the food! We will not be returning.

Having booked a table the previous day we were directed to a table by a waiter who seemed disinterested. We waited several minutes before the waiter came to the table and asked if we wanted some poppadoms before informing us that they no longer served alcohol. We were left with a menu, which contained a wine list! The poppadoms were brought to the table within a few minutes. We had to ask for napkins, as there none on the table We waited about 20 minutes before our order was taken and a further hour before our meal was served. We had acknowledgment from another waiter who apologised for the delay. The food was finally served but unfortunately was rather mediocre, lacking depth of flavour. We requested the bill but were unable to pay via our chosen card despite the notice in window indicating that they accepted the card. We noted that there was a steady stream of take away orders being delivered and clearly that they were more important than customers in the restaurant.

A bit disappointed when we arrived to be told they did not serve alcohol any longer. So we had to send a member of our party out for wine. There was a corkage charge applied but I thought it was a bit steep to include a child in this, who was obviously not drinking wine. Anyway, the service was very good and the food was really good. Quite reasonably priced. However, when we got the bill, we had been charged nearly ten pounds for 4 poppadums and pickles. We had not actually ordered a pickle tray but it came anyway. When we queried the cost we were told that they charged per head for the pickles ( again including a child). But they seemed to agree they had made a mistake as they reduced the bill. I have given 4 stars as the food was good, the overall service was good and they corrected their “mistake”

Whilst the service is attentive and friendly and the food is served fresh and piping hot, the atmosphere could be better with some more Asian themed pictures and background music. No alcohol served, so take your own. Glasses provided, and they even offer to keep your drinks in their fridge.Parking: Parking is at Marsh & Ham by Morrisons, so a mere 5 minute walk.

Fantastic service, delicious food and very good with dietary requirements. Nothing was too much and they were happy to accommodate me. If you want alcohol with your meal you have to bring it yourself but the corkage fee wasn't ludicrous. Very enjoyable mealDietary restrictions: Very good with dietary requirements, nothing was a problem. I'm gluten free and dairy free and I could eat most of the menu with little to no changes. I didn't have any reactions to the food. When I told them of my severe intolerances, they were more than happy to accommodate and told me it wasn't a problem at all! I felt very included and relaxed which was really nice for a meal out with friends

Food is generally good here…however the service is rubbish especially if you’ve ordered a takeaway, always a long wait even when collecting. No alcohol licence so charge an extortionate amount corkage if wanting to sit in!
