Lovely hotel in amazing setting. The food was excellent and the ambiance and service friendly and helpful. Lovely sea view from our room. The room would have benefitted from an extra chair and is getting a bit tired but very clean, comfortable and quite. The bed was very comfortable. I would highly recommend a visit.

Great DG friendly hotel. Helpful friendly staff. Beautiful views from the outside terrace. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Would stay again.

I feel a description of why 3 stars on the rooms and 5 stars overallThe first room we had we had issues with. A bit dirty, old and stale. We asked for a change and the duty manager accommodated us.The second room is a very good standard and much more on point.I understand the hotel has new owners and the newly decorated room we were in is a vast improvement on the old. Modern and stylish. Warm and welcoming.Breakfast was good. A good cooked breakfast was had. The restaurant menu looks good and inviting.I would say the only negative is kerb side appeal is lacking and am sure as the owners set there mark a greater attention to detail will be forthcoming.Feels harsh to mark them down as they have tried and the staff are hard working and really aim to please. Am sure that a lot of the small minor issues will be sorted.I would happily advise as have been in the industry for 30+ years. If not, will be back in a year or 2.Definitely a great little hotel on the way up. But, would definitely recommend it anyway as it is

Called in for breakfast on journey to west country. Our booked table was ready for us with a view of the sea. A buffet to start but some fruits were not available. Good coffee arrived promptly in cafetiere. Very disappointing kedgeree, it was hard baked on the underside( too long in the hotplate ) and the tiny pieces of fish were also hard. It could have done with a few peas to add colour. So very unsatisfactory. However the hardboiled egg, cut in half on the top, was perfect and golden. The ordered croissant came hot but just undercooked. Service was friendly but amateurish. A very average meal but not worth the detour.

Lovely hotel in an ideal location. Situated in a country lane 10 minutes walk to the beach and coastal path which takes you to West Bay. Lovely comfortable room with a modern bathroom. Staff were very helpful, friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Meals were delicious, cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

The Eypes Mouth Country Hotel is set in a lovely quiet area and is ideal for a weekend away or longer , we have spent two nights here and it's been very relaxing, the young staff have been brilliant nothing is to much trouble for them so helpfull and friendly, the food is excellent and the room very clean. The only negative thing that i have to say is the TV is over complicated and really doesn't work particularly well, apart from that a great weekend.

We had a lovely meal here! Abbie and the rest of the team were wonderful. The view is stunning and the vegetarian options were delicious. The carrot cake and ice creams were a great end to the meal too

Spent a couple of nights over a weekend ruined by the weather, however the staff at the Eypes Mouth Hotel were wonderful, all were very attentive and helpful, stand outs were Cora, Cassidy, the assistant manager whose name I never managed to get and who ever cooked the wonderful fish and chips on Friday night, they were superb! The hotel is in need of updates and this is being worked on and when finished with the staff they have this will be a wonderful hotel in a stunning location

Came for a break and had a super room with a view. Beach just down the road. The breakfast was wonderful- freshly cooked to order and beautifully presented. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Carrie particularly so.

Just stayed at the Eypes Mouth Country house hotel with my family for 3 days. Location great albeit tucked away. I wish I could give it a higher rating as it has all the potential there to be a little coastal gem but unfortunately it lets itself down on a number of points. Starting with the positives all of the staff were wonderful. Very welcoming and helpful and the lady serving us at breakfast remembered all our orders from the previously day, a nice touch. The Eypes grill breakfast was great but the kedgeree was poor, a tiny dish of yellow rice with a boiled egg on the side. Barely any sign of fish. Just don't bother or perhaps offer a kipper. Poor tinned fruit selection. Coffee nowadays you can expect more than basic filter, no chance of a cappuccino and it can't be too hard to get a coffee machine in. Morning music quite bizarre like an awful X Factor ballads session at times, we nicknamed it Ballads at Breakfast ! Evening meals were all a decent standard. The rooms.... All door handles in the rooms and throughout the hotel seemed to be the flimsiest cheapest quality and felt like they'd come off in your hand at any point. You wouldn’t find these at a DIY store today. The shower was very disappointing, a few dribbles of either scalding or cold water meant we weren't in there for long. The bathroom door rattled on its hinges so we had to use a towel to stop the noise. Taps in sink broke twice. Saying this it was clean but no maid service second day, short staffed. When we checked out we discovered someone else's drinks bill had been added to ours. These things happen but they are relying on a very outdated system that must make things harder for the staff to reconcile. The owners need to give the staff a chance here and start investing, renovating.

Booked accommodation with dogs .Arrived late afternoon after 1700 discovered room not cleaned yet, and not ready for occupation. Receptionist very arrogant and unprofessional and unfriendly. Result - we cancelled our booking.
