The Green Yard

4-6 Barrack St, Bridport

We stopped in Bridport on the way home to Newbury, and we were so glad we found The Green Yard. The food selection was fab and we ordered pancakes and salmon, scrambled egg on sourdough. Both delicious. What was also great was that I ordered a tea and it came in a HUGE teapot which is such a change from having a cup of tea that you’ve drunk or has gone cold before food arrives. A definite plus for tea drinkers!
The staff were also really friendly and chatty and it made a quick cafe stop so enjoyable. Shame we don’t live nearer!

Dorshi

One of the best meals both me and my fiancé have had all year, what's pictured is only 2/3rds of what we ordered, all of which was legitimately 10/10, I would honestly say portions were just big enough of every item we ordered, felt very fair for how high quality every single ingredient was tasting. What's not pictured is the legendary staff, our waiter was super chill, and up for helping us order with recommendations (love it when staff have their favourites, it really shows a genuine care about what their offering) also had the opportunity to talk to our chef, delightful chap! Lovely to chat with... And fk me, can that boy cook! I have no doubt in my mind if you're reading this and considering going to Dorshi you won't be disappointed, no matter what you order, it all goes off the scale on flavour. Some really original takes on things I've tried too, blown away, seriously happy after that incredible meal!

Vegetarian options: Didn't try any, other than the panko cauliflower and it was brilliant, every piece crispier than the last, I'm sure all the veggie and vegan options are just as interesting and unique.

Dietary restrictions: They asked right after taking our order, I'm sure they would have even mentioned if there was anything in particular in the things we ordered too.

Wheelchair accessibility: There's downstairs seating available.

The Bank House Cafe

The St, Charmouth, Bridport

A very small cafe convenient after a visit to the Charmouth museum. The service was very good and friendly. A very good place for breakfast and coffee after a visit down to the coast. By the way the Charmouth museum which I'll review separately has "cafe" written on the side of the building but there is no cafe there. Only a small shop which sells pastries n coffee to take away. Back to this cafe...the food was very good...had the full English b'fast and wasn't disappointed. The facilities were very clean n tidy. Service was very good even on our busy day. There's no parking lot but public on street parking was fine. Overall a busy little cafe with good service n food. Whlchair accessable. Dogs allowed.

Olive Tree

I don’t often post reviews, but I really wanted to make the effort and take the time to say how highly I would recommend the Olive Tree. We came for lunch and had the two course set menu. I had the Fresh Fish Ceviche and the Linguine del Mare, both of which were cooked to perfection, bursting with flavour and extremely plentiful (no dessert needed!).

A great evening - the server was friendly and helpful throughout, the food (I had plaice, my partner had sea bass) was excellent and beautifully presented, and the prices reasonable. Some draught English beer would make a great addition to the drinks choice.

Lovely place to see a venue. The musicals that are staged are brilliant. They are better than any top cruise ship and could easily be in a west end show. Everything is very professional and very reasonably priced. Go see the next time, you won't be disappointed.

What a lovely find . .
Beautiful village location and an adorable property
The bar area, a rural rustic feel to look effortless but you can tell with the amount of detail, this has had a lot of thought. Check out the optics !
The menu intrigued the taste buds and the delivery was beyond expectations .
Absolutely delicious, so thoughtfully put together.

Ignore the out dated 1 or 2 star reviews. They do not relate to the currently run establishment.

A lovely little gem to be found, enjoyed and quietly recommended !!

We came in twice on Valentine’s Day and a couple of weeks later as we were craving some Italian food and saw on Google that this was proper Italian cuisine, we booked in a table on a platform online which was extremely easy and fast. The atmosphere was lovely with low lights and some flowers on the tables, the place is like a true market food type place that you find in Italia, as it’s an warehouse it was a bit cold and unfortunately the air conditioning it was turned off before 21 pm so it made us feel a bit uncomfortable and had to put our jackets on.The food it was exquisite, we were amazed for such delicious and quality Italian food here in the South which compared with all Italians around it is extremely hard to find.We had the Italian board to start on both times which I highly recommend, we tried the medium and the large one both came with different meats and cheeses it was one of the best boards I have ever tried the meats and cheeses were extremely delicious high quality and the price comparing quality it is great. Even the olives and the sundries tomato that I usually never like were also one of the bests I tried, good quality olive oil as well. I personally loved the fennel salami and the truffle cheese. The pizzas were also stupendous they are freshly made you can tell and all the ingredients they sell on the house, I loved the aphrodisiac pizza is a must try with the chestnut honey and delicious ndjula, we also had the one with artichokes that was not so bad either. The porschetta was very good and delicious, very similar to when I tried first time in Italy. The desserts were excellent too, the mixed Italian pastries are a must as they are fresh and delicious, the affogato was also great but the biscuit with a wine dessert it was poor as just one small biscuit came, we wanted to pay extra and have an extra cup of dessert wine and actually wanted to pay extra for two glasses and they didn’t sold us even when we were willing to pay extra apparently is just for the dessert. The wine list although is not extensive it is just fine with a great selection of Italian wines, we tried two different rossi and were great. The staff are efficient and the service it was good also, this is definitely a great place to visit if you’re around as the vibe is unique and the food amazing. I recommend booking in advance as it was nearly full.Vegetarian options: You can choose from the menu or request.Parking: Parking available just in front.Kid-friendliness: There’s a pizza kids menu with drink for £10.
