Tamarind Indian Takeaway
156 South St, BridportHad an unplanned evenings worth of baby sitting and decided to pop out for dinner.
Checked out local places on Google before heading out and saw the positive reviews the Tamarind had received.
The staff were amazing, really friendly and attentive - there was no rush to get us out of the door, infact the gentleman who was looking after us made it abundantly clear we could stay as long as we liked.
The food was absolutely top notch, everything was delicious and didn't take ages to get from the kitchen.
Price was incredibly reasonable, I'm just annoyed that it's 150 miles from home

Every member of our party thoroughly enjoyed their pizzas and our children especially loved their Nutella pizza dessert. Great atmosphere too, very relaxed evening. Admiral's Restaurant and Bar
Mouth Country Hotel, Eypes, BridportHad lunch here after walking on the coastal path. Slightly inland walk from the coast but worth it. Had Chicken Caesar Salad with ice cream for dessert. The chicken was moist, tender, and tasty. Service was relaxed and friendly. Nice clean decors with indoor and outdoor flow. Was initially worried that the place was closed due to the Google maps timings but it actually opens from 12 pm, not close at 12 pm.

Sundorbon Indian Restaurant & Takeaway Delivery
68 South St, BridportVery good curry house. Busy Friday evening nearly full by 18:00 could be because of 19:30 film at the cinema opposite, but I would book. Decent menu with house specials. Many people ordering the Railway lamb. Don't know if they had just see it on TV or knew it was good. My partner had it and enjoyed it. They seem to have won lots of awards. For me the food was very good but could have been better, but then I am quite demanding when it comes to Indian food.

The staff are so so friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent too. The actual pub itself is gorgeous and the garden is massive! 10/10 experience, will 100% be visiting again.
We had the best time, if we didnt have evening plans after dinner we could of easily spent hours in there just chatting with the owners! Definite must visit if in the area.

Watch House Cafe
West Bay, BridportWe’ve dined at The Watch House many times and always enjoyed it, but this visit began with several menu items unavailable and looked like it could have been a bit shaky. Thanks to quick-thinking staff and a brilliant chef, the evening was rescued – the younger rascals loved their wood-fired pizzas, while the adults were treated to perfectly cooked fresh turbot at mackerel prices.\n\nWith sunshine, good wine, and two witty, impeccably behaved young companions adding to the atmosphere, what could have been a disappointment turned into one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. We’ll definitely be back!

The New Inn
Shipton Rd, Shipton Gorge, BridportWe have lived in Shipton Gorge for almost five years and we have always enjoyed eating and relaxing at the New Inn. Jack and Teah are excellent hosts, really friendly and thoughtful in delivering outstanding hospitality. We all had a meal - the children’s portions were generous, my wife had a roast (yes they do let you have a mixture of meats!) and I had arguably one of the best burgers I have had in a very long time…
I’m sure Jack and Teah will do their best to accommodate ‘walk-ins’ but having worked in hospitality extensively myself, do book in advance - that way the kitchen can plan more effectively, you’ll get the time you want and probably a better table!
Keep up the great work guys and we will be back soon…thank you!

The Green Yard
4-6 Barrack St, BridportShout out to Mike and the team. Very friendly and efficient. Our gang had a mixture of things; Soup with cheese scone, baked potato with beans and cheese, a full english and a cheese toastie. A lovely, large pot of tea for one, earl grey with hot milk on the side was a first for Mike but no problem to serve it.
The food was delicious. A lovely buzz to the cafe. Mike went above and beyond when he noticed an upset child in the cafe, offering her a little biscuit and then agreeing to cook food just for her…food that wasn’t on the menu. Very well done. We live 30 minutes away but when we visit Bridport next, we’ll be paying them a visit.
A special mention goes to the scones…hot with plenty of butter. Made my Mike himself. Heaven.

Kernow Pantry
Brydian Mews, West St, BridportSecond time we have visited this shop in a month.
After craving a pasty while visiting lyme Regis, and being left disappointed after huge ques there, we randomly found this shop on our way to Westbay.
It really made our trip when we took our pasties to Westbay and sat and ate them on the beach.
Both times we have been extremely happy with the pasties we have tried and can not fault them at all.
My husband loved the hog roast and beef and blue cheese. The creamy chicken and leek was a favourite of my daughters, she had it twice. Being a vegetarian there was plenty of choice and I had the spicy veggie pasty.
The pastry was perfect and the fillings tasty and not bulked up with chunks of potato, which annoys me.
The server was really friendly and chatty. He was considerate and asked if I would like him to use seperate tongs from the other tongs which have touched the meat pasties. I said I wasn't bothered but I could understand that some people would have a hissy fit if you touch their vegan pasty with tongs that had touched a meat one.
Would highly recommend to any pasty lovers especially vegetarian ones.

Olive Tree
59 East St, BridportWe held my dad's 80th birthday celebration at the Olive Tree and it was a truly memorable evening for all 26 family members.
The restaurant accommodated us all downstairs in a lovely private space, which was perfect for our large group. They were very flexible, allowing us to decorate the room ourselves to make it feel special and personal, and they were happy for us to bring our own birthday cake.
We pre-ordered a three-course meal in advance, which was clearly appreciated by the chefs and helped ensure everything ran smoothly throughout the evening. The whole event was extremely well organised from start to finish.
The service from the manager and all the waitresses was fantastic - attentive, friendly and professional throughout. The food from the kitchen was absolutely excellent, with every course beautifully prepared and presented.
The Olive Tree made my dad's 80th birthday celebration truly special. Highly recommended for family celebrations.

Bridport Electric Palace
35 South St, BridportRadiohead X Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror
First time visit to the Electric Palace to see the above; it's very cool that they even have this film playing, so thank :D you we all loved it. That aside, what an absolute joy of a venue! We were greeted by lovely, friendly volunteers (I assume) of whom all looked very dapper in appropriate venue attire, this also applies to the barman who really added to the great atmosphere of the evening. Drinks were reasonably priced, again thank you! I've lost count of the amount of venues that hike up the drinks prices and instead of just enjoying a night out you feel like you are watching every penny. One of the special drinks deals on the evening was two glasses of sparkling wine for £10 which, were served perfectly chilled and in two beautiful glass flutes. (To give you some price context the Northcott theatre in Exeter charge £12 for a 175ml of prosecco and serve it in a scratched plastic beaker that you have to rent for £1). Popcorn was popped fresh in the counter popcorn maker, you added your own sugar and salt, very cute. Beautifully clean, lovely wash rooms. Thank you to those who oversee this venue for a great schedule of events and for providing excellent value for money. Wish I lived nearer x
