Went there for a small works xmas do, very warm inviting plaice ( fish) get it, anyway the meal was fandabadoobie could of eaten it again after an hour, staff were very friendly quiet until we got in there, but again can not fault it, they do a nice fish and chips as well...?

What a lovely, busy family business. Everyone caring about what they do across 3 generations. Definitely the best Haddock chips and mushy peas I have ever had, cooked to perfection and generous portions too. I’ve had loads of fish and chips in my time and this was fantastic!! Thank you.

We were very disappointed with our meals today as it was lukewarm. The coffee was the same. We dined in and it could do with freshening up.

We arrived at 6:20 on a Thursday at the King Street restaurant and wanted a table for 5 for sisters 60th birthday who has special needs. We hadn't booked as we are not local, apart from 3 tables all the others were free. We were told we should have booked, and we couldn't have a table for 5 as she wasn't prepared to move any tables - so we would have to sit apart. There was a free table for 8 and a round table for 4 which could easily have had another chair added. When I mentioned this I was simply told we would be getting in the way, and anyway the restaurant closed at 7:30. We ended getting a takeaway as my sister still wanted fish and chips - needless to say we won't be going back. Unhelpful and rude are the politest words I can use.

Staff were good, but the food wasn’t. I had chicken nuggets, they were ok, the chips were mushie and dry, and the peas were mushed. If you’re going to sell Mushie peas at least tell your customers that they are mushie. The ice cream was ok. The cream tasted weird, and the marshmallows tasted like they were about to explode in my mouth. Toilets were pitch black too.

what a Hidden gem !! never been here before , bought a take away and sat in their garden . i had sausage and chips my partner had fish and chips both amazing. we liked them so much we returned the following week for a eat in meal of fish and chips in their resteraunt . Service great , tables clean and well presented . people even gone here for their birthdays . lots of space nice and clean. and the plates the fish and chips were served on were shaped like fish i thought that was a nice touch . will definatly be returning . Thankyou .

Being less than a mile from the sea you'd think Bridport would have a half decent fish and chip shop, unfortunately not. Due to the only two being the same buisness. Being nearby have been tempted a few times but felt screwed over afterwards. Chips are ok, sometimes hot sometimes not. Fish portions are quite small and batter often soft. Very expensive for this too. We dined in once and left early due to the overly curt rude woman serving us. Speaking to others we weren't the only ones to experience this. Such a shame for Bridport. We now go to S&E in West Bay, much bigger portions, higher quality and cheaper!

First time a review motivated due to disappointment. Been customers for many years but tonight we both found the fish, chips and peas bland and unpleasant to eat in fact most of it was given to seagulls. It didn’t feel like cooked as normal. We were there early evening chips were like warmed up, fish and batter unpalatable, peas unpleasant, first time ever disappointed there, not a treat at all!

The fish and chips were fantastic. The two older women behind the counter should be sacked for their abuse of the two younger female employees. Their behaviour was shocking. Fortunately, the food was so good it saves them from a 1 star review!
