No recent visits because they've been closed for a couple of months. Don't know why but they've got to find new tenants.

Nothing can begin to come close to the disappointment my friends and I had when we came to this place. Their motto of good food, good beer and good cheer should be amended to mediocre food, flat beer and morgue fear. It saddens me that people have considered this a good meal, and a place to be. I’d rather be seen singing Baby Please Don’t Go than in this establishment. Patron beware.

Very disappointed after always such a good carvery looks like its struggling to keep its head above water...sadly won't be back filthy windows enough to put us off our food as spiders caught theirs in the thick cobwebs!!!!

The food was fine but the staff were not very friendly. The coffee was not hot and we had quite a wait for our food but it was dog friendly.

Ordered 4 medium Sunday lunch. The 3 slices of beef on each plate were awful, with no taste and full of gristle. The only food I eat was the roast potatoes, I did eat all 3 and the Yorkshire pud. The small plate was it was served on was swimming with gravy. We wouldn't go back.

We waited over an hour for food with only 6 others customers in pub of which 4 were already eating meals. Food very greasy and not very warm. Breakfast, Lasagne and veg overcooked the special of cottage pie was inedible. Beer was not right and half was left. Definitely will not be going back

Food took over an hour to arrive, despite the fact we were the only group waiting for Food. I ordered the special and it was inedible. The barmaid kept apologising for the delay. Even the dogs refused the food.

4 adults and a beagle went for Sunday roast. Service was brilliant. The restaurant was spotless. Food was very hot with excellent portions. You couldn't have asked for better service and meals.Vegetarian options: We were offered the vegetarian option but didn't take it.Parking: We parked opposite. Our other family parked around the back. It was pay and display.

Haven't been here since new owners took over. Sunday menu is now starters, plated roast and desserts. 3 sizes small £11.95 2 slices meat, medium £12.95 3 slices meat and large £14.95 4 slices meat, the large could be mixture of meats if required. Very quiet compared to past when it was a popular carvery but thought we'd give it a try. Ordered small and large, both came with Yorkshire pud, 3 roast potatoes for small and 4 for large, 2 bits of roast parsnips, 2 pieces roast carrots, swede, white cabbage and garden peas. Personally white cabbage under cooked, tiny portion of parsnip and carrots, too many peas, but overall a good roast. Meat was beef, turkey and pork, all very nice. Shame we had to ask for horseradish etc and no check back during meal. Also shame about Palmer alcohol prices but landlords can't do anything about that. However we enjoyed the meal and would recommend and return. Helen

Popped in to have a light lunch with family and what a disappointment. Empty tables with dirty dishes and glasses on them. Hardly anyone in the place. The wait for the disapointing food was over an hour.I dont know if they have staffing issues but we certainly won't be going back!

Went here last year (2022) and the place was busy, good atmosphere and the food was nice. Returned this year and the place was dead, no atmosphere, ordered food which never arrived but they took our money and then begrudgingly refunded us. And Staff seemed more preoccupied with chatting to their mates. Apparently under new management and it really shows.

Came here Saturday (26/8) late lunchtime for drinks and snacks. It's spacious inside and the only place we could get a table, says something. We were treated so badly by the young woman at the bar we decided to leave it. I've never been served by someone that rude. Every single thing was an issue. Walked upto bar i smiled and got a blank face back "what do you want?" Almost laughed! Then issue with table number going back and forth.. we were two paces away! Everything difficult. I didnt dare ask her name but she had dark and blonde hair in a messy done up hair style.. i think piercings. Wouldn't waste a penny here. We are local and sadly didn't find a new haunt today. Go to the ropemakers, even spoons you'll be treated better.

Food took at least 45mins and was way below average.A burger for £15 that was dry, had two slices of cold cheese, cold buns, 4 bits of a tomatoe slice,See the picture!!There were 6 of us and we all left dissatisfied

Very disappointing lunch yesterday. Wewaited ages for it to arrive and they weren't busy. Chicken burger really small, didn't even fit the dry bun, with a few chips, more like a child's portion and cost nearly £9. Fish and chips okay but fish dry and overcooked. Won't be returning.

Really nice roast on Sunday, but why put the meat on top of the veg, a roast is not to be messed about with, when are you going to bring back the carvery?
