This is a really lovely place, the decor is great and overall it has a really nice feel, almost a bit like the cafe in Allo Allo...for those of us old enough to remember! ?For two drinks (wine and prosecco) it was around £12, which is excellent value, especially compared to Soho next door, which for the same two drinks is an obscene £20.50!It would be five stars for me had it not been for the really stark overhead halogen lighting. 'The Snug' conjures up ideas of cosy warm, ambient lighting but it is just far too bright....please dim the lights in there and make it really snug! ?

Just had a very nice coffee here, the building is quite ancient, on the high street with a view of the castle from the upstairs back window.

We hold a regular meeting in the upstairs room and have always been made to feel so welcome: nothing is too much trouble! There is always a range of cakes etc available and we will often order a selection of snacks. A real treat! Special care is taken for those with dietary requirements and that is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We're not locals and just needed somewhere for coffee and light lunch. Soup (choice of four) and cheese toastie was a great menu choice! It is certainly "snug" with a lovely friendly, independent vibe. Coffee was definitely above average too.
A lovely pub that has a wonderful selection of beers. I had a full English breakfast that was cooked to perfection and was nice and hot. And a lovely cup of tea was just what I needed. I highly recommend the Snug as one of the best kept secrets in Christchurch. Its just at the exit of the priory. You won't be disappointed. Lovely food and welcoming staff. Also dogs are welcome.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat and ended up having a pint too, found it to be an excellent micro-pub / cafe with great food and lovely ales, a real pleasant surprise!
