Christmas meal. Really good. Pub was a bit noisy on our arrival but managed well by proprietor.

This was a great experience of Sunday lunch at an old English pub (free house actually). My wife tried the lamb roast with vegetables, accompanied by a half pint of light ale. Absolutely loved it! I tried venison sausages and mash, accompanied by a locally made raspberry lemonade - the kind pubs served when I was a boy. Both great. We would have tried their deserts, but no room left after the big main course. Husband and wife hosts were lovely and the regulars also made us feel welcome. Small word of caution- they are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Always excellent food and service. Good choice of beers. Booking a must as the Blue Raddle is always busy. Highly recommend. Dog friendly too.Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetarian and vegan options.

The pub was recommended to us as we'd talked to someone about struggling to find somewhere that offers good vegetarian food. I'm so glad we gave them a visit. We arrived early afternoon and hadn't booked but luckily a table was available. They offer an excellent meal choice, including a wide range of both vegan and vegetarian food. Something I rarely see. I chose the broccoli and blue cheese pasta, with garlic bread, which was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered a pork and cider casserole, which was served with a great range of veg. He says his meal was also delicious. I loved the quirky decoration, around the walls and bar, which is certainly interesting. I have no doubt we'll be back, with our vegan daughter, to try their Sunday roast.

Best fish pie and vegetables I've had in years.

Superior "pub grub" doesn't do this place justice. An amazingly long & unusual list of options on the black board, including veggie/vegan, fish & meat that should satisfy anyone. All clearly home cooked too. Good choice of real ales & a friendly atmosphere, just as a pub should be. We got lucky with the last unreserved table, so booking recommended.

Cosy pub with fantastic food and good ale but you need to book a table in advance as it usually fully booked

Good range of bitters and ciders all served by the owner with his wife taking care of the food side of the business. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.Vegetarian options: Although I am not a vegetarian my partner loved the selection of meals and she enjoyed the fish pie.

Called in for a drink on afriday night and were so intrigued we decided to eat there the following night. Fantastic varied menu that I doubt you will find anywhere else. lots of veggie options as well as Venison and Pheasant. Drink selection is also nice and varied as is the decor. This couple work so hard to ensure everyone enjoys themselves, This is a local business and well worth supporting, visit and enjoy yourselves.

I cannot find fault at all - abso perfect in every way! Our group had Vegan burger, Pork faggots & Cumberland sausage meals. Had to control ourselves not to lick the plates it was so tasty! All homemade and so, so tasty. We squeezed ourselves into the last remaining non-reserved table and were served within seconds of going to order - even though busy. Once a bigger table became free the landlord cleaned it and came over to offer it to us rather than saving for a bigger party - so kind and thoughtful - not what I'm used to out my way! About 12 vegan/veg dishes and plenty of meat/fish dishes of various delicacies - about 40 meals ish. It seemed a standardised pricing - one price fits all meals which was really refreshing idea. Busy, but lovely atmosphere where everyone seemed to know each other & very welcoming - nothing seemed too much trouble to landlord/lady. Once food scoffed we had an hour to spare before we had to make a move and didn't feel at all we had to make room for someone else. This sounds silly but I really appreciate a good hand soap these days (yes I'm pushing late 40's) and I was really happy to find Molton Brown hand soap in the toilets - not a luxury I get in my local haunts (must try to upgrade my locals). Only thing I realy would recommend is to book - we were so very lucky to get a space and |I wouldn't want anyone disappointed! Anyway give it a go you won't be disappointed!

I was looking for a traditional pub with a quiet corner and a good selection of food and cider. I got more than I expected and learnt a thing or two about raddles. There were far more vegetarian meals on offer than I have seen anywhere and the Perry's Barn Owl cider gave me a good night's sleep later. A popular pub and full of great and amusing paintings by local artist(s).

This pub has been recommended to me many times but I had not been able to visit due to its limited opening days. I am pleased to report that it exceeded all expectations. Comfortable, clean, welcoming free house serving a good range of unpretentious ales at very reasonable prices. This pales alongside the food, which is hearty, wide-ranging, and offers several local game choices, incl. venison, pheasant and duck. I had a venison casserole, which was delicious and was accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables. Again, excellent and unpretentious. Best pub in West Dorset, and that's going some!
