Basilico
41 Trinity St, DorchesterMy friend and I ate here this evening before watching a film at the plaza cinema a 2minute walk away. I had seen this place on the map and often thought i should try it. On first glance this little restaurant doesn't look much but don't judge a book by its cover, go inside and enjoy the pizza. On arrival the place was quiet bar one couple enjoying their food. The lovely waitress/possible owner took a little while to greet us but once she did I can't complain. We quickly ordered our food and beverage each. Whilst we chatted they decided to put some questionable pop/rap/rnb music on which was a bit louder than background music so I had to pay attention to my friends conversation. However all can he forgiven as when our pizzas arrived they were authentic and delicious. Having been to Italy multiple times I can confirm these Woodfired sour dough pizzas in Dorset are fantastic. The waitress also checked on us a couple of times which i appreciate. Great little find. A shame for the owners that it wasn't busier as they deserve to have more footfall on a Friday night. The bill was very reasonable. 2 soft drinks and 2 pizzas was just over £35.00.I will 100% be returning with my partner and no doubt with my friend again.

The Wise Man Inn
West Stafford, DorchesterSelfishly I would like to keep this little gem to myself so that I can always go when I want but in the spirit of generosity (and because these guys are so brilliant) I felt I needed to leave a review. All of it is outstanding - the food, the service, the ambience, the wine - and I’m a hard person to please! I have been for a quick soup and a sandwich, full-blown Sunday roast and a mid-week supper. All superb, freshly prepared food. Yes, maybe slightly pricier than other pubs, but if top quality food and a genuinely friendly service is your priority this is the place to come!

11 Bridport Rd, DorchesterWe had a great family gathering at The Sydney Arms. Nothing was too much trouble for Donna and her team. We’ve been using the Sydney Arms for many, many years, it’s certainly much improved. The food, drinks and atmosphere was great, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It’s great to have some entertainment too, something of a rarity in Dorchester in recent years.I would highly recommend The Sydney, it’s great to see how much it’s improved since it’s been taken over.

Premier Inn Dorchester hotel
5 Pope St, DorchesterSuper location right next to train station, in the gentrified brewery district, walking distance from the high street. Car parking is unusual: pull up in front of the hotel in the 20min bays, check in, then use room key to enter an underground car park. Good luck finding the car park, instructions/directions are lacklustre at best. Or consider other open air car parks nearby. Check in was very, very slow, and by the time I'd found the car park probably more than 30mins had passed between arrival and getting in to the room. Rooms clean and up to usual premier inn standard.

Langham Wine Estate and Vineyard Café
The Tasting Room, Crawthorne Farm, Crawthorne, DorchesterWe went for the standard vineyard tour which is 2 hours, £25pp and includes 3 wine tastings. Our guide Emma was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and very engaging. So engaging I forgot to take photos! We have been for a few vineyard tours/ tastings before including in Napa Valley and Maipo Valley and we still learnt a lot from Emma. Especially around the viticulture, harvesting, fermentation and bottling processes. The tasting was also very enjoyable and the three English sparkling wines that we tried were great (Corallian, Culver and Rose). We even got a cheeky bonus Blanc de blancs to taste. There was zero pressure to buy anything but we did end up getting a few bottles. We didn’t order the lunch there as we had other plans but it looked good. The restaurant also offered pastries/nuts/crisps/coffee etc. to order if you wanted.Highly recommend if you love wine or just like to know more about the process of making it.The tour is dog friendly.
