We found this little gem on Google as a stop off for lunch on our way home to Portsmouth and I am so glad we did. The food is delicious and the service was excellent. We had the falafel wrap, a falafel salad, a turmeric latte, and a very berry smoothie. Please support this wonderful cafe, you won't be disappointed ?.

Always Exceptional!

We visited The White Horse Inn again today for a Sunday roast to celebrate my birthday, having been here several times before, and once again, everything was absolutely outstanding. They even kindly accommodated a special request we made in advance for the occasion, which made the visit feel even more special.

We had the vegetarian nut roast, and it truly is the best in the area: beautifully seasoned, hearty, and packed with flavour. The roast potatoes were perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, and the Yorkshire puddings were golden, generous, and delicious. The homemade sides, especially the cheesy vegetable bake and fresh greens, were amazing additions that made the whole plate feel generous and comforting. Everything arrived piping hot and full of flavour, exactly as a proper Sunday roast should be.

Desserts are just as impressive. The homemade apple crumble was divine, with a golden crunchy topping, soft apples, and a gorgeous berry sauce, paired perfectly with creamy vanilla ice cream. A perfect ending to a perfect meal.

Thank you, as always, to the team at The White Horse Inn. We absolutely love coming here, and it’s always worth the drive every single time. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Went here for afternoon tea for a freinds birthday. The food was absolutely amazing, all home made and plenty of it!! (6 of us) with food to take home as well. The people were friendly and service was good. It was well worth the money, to the extent that we are considering going back for another friends birthday ? well worth a visit.

Stopped here for a quick lunch, we don’t know Dorchester so we were taking pot luck and were delighted with our choice. Smiling, friendly helpful staff, delicious sandwiches with generous fillings made with really fresh bread and served with chunky , crunchy coleslaw and a side salad. All top quality and dog friendly too. Will go again!

Best restaurant in town! A small, intimate and independent restaurant in Poundbury, Dorchester. Absolutely amazing food, drinks and service. Great value for money. Had the 3 course Sunday lunch and it was so awesome, we came back for the Christmas menu. Best crème brûlée ever! Highly recommend this restaurant, absolute gem.

I've been to this pub several times and it's well worth the 30min drive to get here from where I live. This time for a joint family birthday/ Xmas celebration. As always the food came out in generous portions, well cooked and delicious. Nut roasts, turkey with all the trimmings and a lovely range of veg were all devoured - followed by Xmas puddings and cheesecakes. A good time was had by all and we were so pleased to get our booking in.
Absolutely love this pub and wish I lived closer. It has a great vibe, fantastic drink selection and loyal punters. The standard menus are a mix of light bites, bar menu favourites and some gastro delights. Error on behalf of one of the previous reviewers, there are several options cheaper than £18 and everything is well worth it as it's far more generous and delicious than the standard high street chain pub. Always recommend!

Fabulous Sunday lunch! Delicious beef (rare) and lamb shank falling off the bone. Great selection of vegetables beautifully cooked (red cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower cheese etc). Superb dessert: poached peaches millefeuille with vanilla Chantilly and pecan brittle: very light and absolutely delicious!

Beautifully presented Inn with wonderful views over the fields. Family of 9 ranging from 10 to 60 years of age. Child's menu had lots of choice and my daughter enjoyed her meal. My son ate from the main menu and very much enjoyed his pulled pork Angus burger with fries. The rest of the family had the carvery which was very tasty, well presented and hot as it should be! \n\nThe staff were all friendly and welcoming offering a good service from start to finish. Highly recommend the New Inn, good value for money and a wonderful location! Thank you very much for making our birthday celebration a success!

Attended a really sweet baby shower celebration here, we were able to get the back area to ourselves for the 16 of us. The staff were all so nice, friendly and helpful.
They were able to accommodate for various dietary requirements. And there was a generous amount of teas, coffees, sandwiches, scones and cakes for all. There was also an amazing rainbow cake served to the mum to be! It was all delicious and can't recommend this place enough!

Me and my family stopped in Dorchester for the day while they were down from up North and popped in for some lunch while passing. So glad we did because i cannot recommend this place enough! The atmosphere and friendliness of this place makes you feel so welcome. The staff were so lovely to us and super accommodating. Anything we needed they were there. Onto the food… incredible… if you want a hearty home-feel meal this is the place to go! I honestly havent had a meal like that in a long long time. Super affordable and great value. I will definitely come in again when im in the area just for that dorset apple cake and custard!

This is a GEM of a pub. Despite growing up near Dorchester and coming into town all my life I only started visiting this pub recently and it is simply terrific.

It’s an old property with atmosphere, terrific hosts, and good beer. On Mondays and Tuesdays they have a special deal on real ale, £2.90 a pint, which is a bargain in this day and age.

Great family celebrations yesterday for two birthdays in the skittle Alley with our own pic-nic and cakes. Great draft beer, ‘Imagine’ being played on the piano by a young boy who later gave our youngest birthday boy two Pokémon cards, heart warming!
Great all round family atmosphere, dog included. Thanks guys, you have a great venue, and we didn’t even venture into the garden.

Angela created the most beautiful wedding cake for us. I sent her a few inspiration photos and she used them to design a cake that was absolutely perfect. We didn’t see it until the big day, which made it such a lovely surprise.

After trying her samples, we ended up picking flavours we wouldn’t have expected, passionfruit for one tier and raspberry & chocolate for the other. Both were incredible, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about them. The bright colours also tied in brilliantly with our colourful theme.

One of the highlights was that we sent Angela photos of our cats, and she recreated them perfectly for the cake topper – it was such a fun, personal touch. She even delivered and set everything up on the day, making it completely stress-free.

We couldn’t recommend her highly enough – thank you Angela!

We had takeaway and collected ourselves.

The food is consistently high quality and you know that when you order a dish, you will get exactly the dish you are thinking of. Always hot, always so fresh tasting, the tubs are the larger sizes and just really good value for a take away price. We can feed 4 hungry people for under £50, which is astonishing.

We have eaten there in the day from the 2 or 3 course lunchtime deal. Excellent value and a really hearty lunch.
If you find yourself in Dorchester, it is very near the museums and town centre.
The staff are always so lovely, kind and fun too. In the evenings, it is always packed out, and those ladies earn their money. They are run off their feet but everything is always excellent and totally under their control.
In 25 years, we haven't ever had a single problem with the food.
