Following reviews here, my wife (Coeliac) has struggled to find decent gluten free fish and chip options …. Visited unannounced, staff were very helpful and when the gluten free enquiry was made, the responding question was ‘coeliac?’ - what a massive confidence boost. A lot of the menu is available gluten free and the separate preparation area was explained and that he had just finished cleaning it. Separate fryer to avoid any cross contamination. Ordered gluten free cod and chips (wife coeliac) and normal cod and chips with pickled eggs, mushy peas etc. Owner said he would need half an hour as he'd have to drain the oil down to do GF. Anyone that deals with being a coeliac will understand that that statement is like music to their ears. Right I use to go here with the old ownership but love the new owner true Brit in every way funny and extremely polite with good banter and I promise you the best chips in town I love my chips and this is the place there perfect every time with a good menu and fair prices , and I live in Southampton and sometimes I drive down just to go here.
