If we are getting a curry in Ferndown and we have extra guests that want chips, we usually pop over the road to Ferndown Fish and Chips. As we are used to the great expectations of Ashleys in Ferndown, unfortunately this chip shop doesn;t come anywhere near. The portions are a lot smaller for the same amount of money, and you can easily get large…

Following reviews on Find Me Gluten Free and being local, decided to try Ferndown Fish & Chips as not had been to a chippy since being diagnosed coeliac 4 months ago.Called first and explained I was gluten free, it was no issue for them at all. Ordered cod and chips, it was lush.Thank you for catering us with coeliac ?

Right I use to go here with the old ownership but love the new owner true Brit in every way funny and extremely polite with good banter and I promise you the best chips in town I love my chips and this is the place there perfect every time with a good menu and fair prices , and I live in Southampton and sometimes I drive down just to go here.

Following reviews here, my wife (Coeliac) has struggled to find decent gluten free fish and chip options …. Visited unannounced, staff were very helpful and when the gluten free enquiry was made, the responding question was ‘coeliac?’ - what a massive confidence boost. A lot of the menu is available gluten free and the separate preparation area was explained and that he had just finished cleaning it. Separate fryer to avoid any cross contamination. No questions too silly, the food was awesome too. All items clearly marked ‘GF’. They advise calling in advance so they can ensure a clean and sterile area and asked to avoid a Friday evening as they are really busy and can’t 100% guarantee any cross contamination. A great find! Definitely will be back!!

Quite possibly the worst fish and chips I have ever had . My chicken gout is were so dark I thought they were bbq chicken wings . No one answers the phone so u can’t even talk to anyone about it . Really poor . Not fresh battered ., frozen fish cooked at too high a temperature.. do not recommend at all

Ordered gluten free cod and chips (wife coeliac) and normal cod and chips with pickled eggs, mushy peas etc. Owner said he would need half an hour as he'd have to drain the oil down to do GF. Anyone that deals with being a coeliac will understand that that statement is like music to their ears. It tells you that they know what being gluten intolerant is and also that they do take it seriously.Food was excellent, huge portions even I couldn't eat it all and I eat like a hippo, friendly staff. Not expensive and ready slightly before they said. All in all great chippy.

The fish & chips were top notch. Lovely golden batter. Price wise it's in the middle, not bargain basement, but still good value for money.Parking: There are roadworks limiting access currently, so they have extended the home delivery option.
