Arriving late on a Monday into Portland, there's not many options, and we saw this place's name and had a chuckle and thought, "how can you go wrong for some decent fish in a seaside resort close to docks". Well. You absolutely can.Firstly, the staff were terribly inattentive, there was no one in the shop waiting, and it still took over ten mins to order, as when they finally emerged, they were tending to an online order. The wait for the food was inexplicably another 20 mins after that.The chips were over fried and hollow, yet managed at the same time to be soggy, the fish was grey (obviously NOT fresh) and also managed to be cold, which was also mind boggling. Portion sizes were also tiny. One plus, however, the tartar sauce was nice. Hence the 1 star.Avoid. There's a reason this place isn't on TripAdvisor, and the Facebook review page is a heavily curated echo chamber. Honestly Salty Towers, get your act sorted out.

Delicious food, not greasy at all…there was a mix up with my order but a quick phone call and everything was sorted quickly, really helpful, friendly lady who dealt with my enquiry, would definitely recommend.

Chips, large battered sausage and curry sauce.This was a great little find and I will definitely be going here again.The food was great and surprisingly not dripping with oil. The curry sauce was good too.

Popped in tonight because I'm too lazy too cook! Greeted buy a super polite young lad at the counter really friendly got my order In no time at all! Food is delicious and was fast too really hit the spot! Portions are really good too! :)

Ordered ahead. Very busy but order was ready at about the right time. Everything was a good temperature and tasty when got it back to the house.If ordering the chicken nuggets - they come UNDER the chips (a regular clarification we were told!)Meal deal fish was good value but the tartare a tad sharp for our taste. The portion size was excellent.Kids chips were sizable so could easily feed a pre-teen rather than the 5 yr old in tow.
Always really freshly cooked , chips really ?. Batter very crispy ? ?. Lots if choice even the cheaper option of pensioners fish n chips. Highly recommended ?

If you want hollow chewy chips, dry bread rolls and chewy chicken nuggets then this is the place for you. Can of Rio was our best purchase. Nothing fresh about the chips, won’t be going back ever again. Unclean interior, our gut feeling was to not go in, wish we’d followed our instinct.
