Although a Fish and Crab based place they do cater for Vegetarians and the vegetarian food was fantastic!

The Beehive
Unit 1, Victoria Park, Lerret Rd, PortlandI love the Beehive. Been here a few times. It can feel a little pricey, almost £4 for a sausage roll, but it's worth it. The pork, marmite and cheese one is lovely. Thw atmosphere is very cafe in that it's echo and can be a little loud when it's busy. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside at one of the handful of tables. Service is good, with polite and welcoming staff. Never had a bad experience here. There's also a store round the corner where you can by local goods.

Sugar Loaf Cafe
4 Reforne, Easton, PortlandExcellent cooked breakfast, also catered for gluten free so my wife could also enjoy a full breakfast without having to miss any items off such as sausage, toast etc.
Fast, friendly service and fair price.
I would highly recommend.

The Cove House Inn
91 Chiswell, PortlandIt is such a nice restaurant located in the high street of Isle of Portland. I am highly recommended you go there in warm and sunny weather.
The decoration is English pub style but it is very clean and tidy no bad smell. They served variety of dish for example seafood such as fish, crab, shellfish. They also have Sunday Roast.
The day we went was on Sunday. We arrived there at late afternoon around 3:30pm. It was near the kitchen close time which was 4pm. A waitress still welcomed and gave us a table with good sea view inside. All waitresses are very friendly and provided excellent service to their customers.
We ordered a 12 hours slow cooked beef brisket. The taste was marvellous, meat is very tender and juicy. It is unbelievable to have such a great dish in England ! The texture of the cooked brisket is very like the Chinese cooking method. I am very impressive.
There is an outdoor sea view beer garden next to the beach which is another spot. The day was quite windy. I believe there will be full of people in summer time.
This restaurant I am sure will come again!

The Blue Fish Cafe & Restaurant
17a Chiswell, PortlandThis place was great. The staff was absolutely fantastic--so friendly, so helpful, and didn't mind that we were a bit chaotic with two energetic dogs. Great atmosphere inside and out in the garden. The Virgin Mary was particularly tasty.

Britannia Inn
17 Fortuneswell, PortlandWe popped in for a drink whilst on holiday after walking back from Portland Bill lighthouse. It had mainly locals in it but we were made to feel very welcome (including our dog), and the locals gave us another walk to do. We ended up staying for a second drink. A nice visit. Thank-you.

Royal Portland Arms, 40 Fortuneswell, PortlandSuperb old fashioned pub with extremely friendly locals. First visit here while on a mini holiday & as soon as I walked in was greeted by the nice lady behind the bar. Within a couple of minutes I was chatting away with her & a few others say in the pub. Had a couple of drinks of their local cider while we chatted & laughed. It really was a pleasant change from the modern corporate pubs where this sort of experience simply wouldn't happen. I ended up going back here the final night of my trip for another visit as I enjoyed it that much. Straight away the her lady & a couple of the customers who were in there that first time saw me & recognised me for another chat. I got to know a couple of the locals beautiful dogs too which was amazing.
The pub is a good old fashioned, proper pub, so dont expect anything high tech, flashy or modern. Feels like going back in time in a good way.
I'll definitely be going here again when I'm back in Dorset in a few months time. Thanks for a nice experience, keep up the good work.

Afternoon Tea at Heights Hotel
The Heights Hotel, Yeates Rd, PortlandJust got home from an amazing week at the Heights Hotel. All the staff were amazing. My husband has Emphysema and uses an oxygen compressor. All the staff were so thoughtful and helpful. The room was perfect and kept really clean. A card and little gift was left in the room for my husband as I mentioned I was booking it to celebrate his 70th Birthday. There is a lift to get up to the restaurant. The food including breakfast was really yummy with lots of choices. I would highly recommend this Hotel .

Rays Fish Shop
35 Straits, Easton, PortlandWe were here on holiday and had fish and chips from here. Coming from the West Midlands, I have quite a high bar for decent chips! All the food was lovely, including the beef chilli, and all goid portions. The staff there were really friendly and the short wait showed that the food was cooked fresh.

Signature burger. Cheesy chips. Bacon tomato cheese panini . 3 meals for under £20 .For parking you can park in hambro car park just past the cafe . 40 second walk from the car park to the cafe

The Eight Kings
40 Southwell Rd, PortlandWe are in Portland for a short break and decided on the Eight kings for our dinner.
The staff are very attentive and friendly. From what I saw locals were in as well (so a big thumbs up from them) drinks were prompt- our dinners to a little longer than expected but the staff kept apologising.
But it was well worth the wait - yum

The Little Ship

Only one real ales on. Sharps Fury, which was superb.
Staff friendly and chatty.
The pub inside was very clean and tidy.

Golden island Chinese take away in Portland
33 Straits, Easton, PortlandMe and my partner are on holiday in Portland and tried the food here, it was very nice, much better than the food I've had at other Chinese restaurants. There was a bit of a wait for the food but it was a Friday night so that's to be expected. Would recommend. We had salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, egg friend rice, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and chicken satays on skewers.
