Appalling food, the worst pub food I have ever eaten. When a 10 year says “the pizza is rubbish, we’ve got better at home” you know it’s not just you… As a family of 5, three adults and 2 children we booked and visited the Two Brewers for a lunch out. The pub looks like a beautiful old town pub and under new management. We honestly thought there would be a concerted effort to make an impression that lasted and would be lure for us to keep going back for more and more. There is little if any apparent Christmas spirit, not a deal breaker, but you would have thought an effort would have been made given the time of year and they’ve just started out. The menu was small, you know fair enough if it’s cooked well a small menu is great as opposed to a huge one that’s cooked poorly. I ordered a creamy turkey korma with rice and a poppadom. It was terrible. Small pieces of rectangular turkey, roughly cut onion, chickpeas, in a watery sauce. What I strongly suspect is out of a packet microwave rice and a definitely out of packet oily burnt and flat, microwaved poppadom. I would say if you wanted to eat it all it would have been enough to feed a child. My two children ordered cheese and tomato pizza and chips. A small shop bought pizza and bowl of chips, served on a chopping board with a pile of salad leaves. Poor. The other two adults are the vegetation curry, they didn’t want to comment. To polite. It looked mine, minus the turkey and lots more chick peas. This was the worst pub food I have ever eaten. I would say it is a nice place to go for a drink.

The food was cold and undercooked . We received 2 meals and 20 minutes later my husband’s arrived with no potatoes on. When our plates were cleared we had to ask for some potatoes. Our veg were rock hard. An hour later, the dessert that we pre ordered hadn’t arrived so I asked for a refund, I was told no so asked to speak to the manager. He was rude, sarcastic and dismissive. Not at all what I expect for a Christmas Day meal that I have pre ordered and pre paid for. We had one cracker between 4 of us. Very poor service and value for money. I would have given them another shot were it not for the rude and disrespectful behaviour of the manager. Not good value for money and terrible food and awful service. Disappointed

Great place. Dan and Juliet had only been in for three weeks , but had already created a welcoming atmosphere. . The food was great , service efficient. With all the plans they have for the next year, this will definitely be the pub to go to in Shaftesbury.

Went here for Sunday lunch with family. Were told they only had two meat selections, and one vegetarian option which was basically a jacket potato. We made our choice, but can only say that we found the meal very disappointing with very small portions on a small plate with the food being barely warm. No member of staff came over to ask if we were enjoying it, and certainly say it was not worth the prices charged. We understand that the owners and staff are new to this business but feel that they need more practice and a great deal of improvement if they are to succeed.

Ye Olde Two Brewers has a new land lord. Most of the previous staff are not working there anymore. Not to be compared to previous landlords

Arrived yesterday evening 11th November for dinner to be told they had run out of food as they used it all at lunch time. How can this even happen , surely you cater and check yout stcick levels before hand..very disappointing !!

Look like a nice old pub and was looking for some nice food . I had the special of the day chilli with extra cheese and salad ….. it turned up in a paper bowl with the salad which looked petty poor and didn’t taste anything like chilli I was very disappointed and must say the worst meal I have tasted in a long time.

This was our second visit, first time was for an evening meal, this time, a Sunday roast. Our first meal here was quite nice, which is why a decided to have a Sunday roast. However, it just didn't meet expectations! My roast potatoes were burnt, as was the Yorkshire pudding and the stuffing was an inedible lump. The staff are really nice, it's a shame the good service was let down by the quality of food.

Lovely little pub full of character. We stumbled across it. Gorgeous food with fantasic service. Outdated pictures on Google as no play park in the garden, however public park over the road out the front.Parking: Limited spaces in car park and narrow roads leading up to pub.

Lovely & homly, the individual rooms made it very cosy. The atmosphere was good with a mix of locals & visitors. As its Summer of course the log burner wasn't lite but Woow if it was you sure would of been as warm as toast!!

Booked a table a week in advance for 6 yesterday only to find a 2 hour wait for food...which was very nice but the poor staff were overwhelmed and the pub which is often far more busy than this...begs the question as to how they will cope in the future, i can see this once lovely pub going the same way as the Kings Arms unless the owners get a grip on it..One younger member of staff was brilliant, as was the cook...but we would seriously now think twice about going there again for a Sunday meal...gutted to have to say all this, but we nearly upped and left...

Visited for lunch , burgers and milkshakes were amazing ,but ...ordered the banana and peanut waffles , what a sight... cold standard chocolate waffles bought from a local supermarket, about two tablespoons of jar peanut butter slapped onto it ..worst dessert I've ever had . Pity as it was a dissapointing end to the meal .

Went for a Sunday roast, food was only warm, the roast potatoes tasted as if they had been reheated! Our table was tucked away in a corner, was way to hot to eat inside, needed air conditioning or a fan as window didn't open. The garden furniture was very old and very rickety. And as for carpark.... that's another story.Would not go back and eat here.Parking: Don't park in the car park! You will have difficulty getting out.

We stayed nearby and walked here for both takeaway and dine in meals. Food was solid, staff was excellent, and the views from the back garden area are fantastic. Very enjoyable times!
